I may be overthinking this line more than necessary, but—whenever Alhaitham has lines like this, it almost feels as if he isn't simply speaking based on his observations of people alone, but also possibly from his own experiences (i.e. even certain mundane things are deemed special to a person as pragmatic and rational like him). Then again, I think there's a certain kind of quiet sentimentality to him that tends to be overlooked and overshadowed by his astuteness, mostly because Alhaitham's always so guarded and not explicitly expressive or vocal about that sentimentality.... but it's there when you consider what's left unsaid in his actions. Personally, I've always thought Alhaitham (or his intentions, at least) is actually gentler by nature than most people give him credit for. He may be very blunt with his words and deadpan sassy with his wry humour, but I've never seen him as someone who's terribly rude or vitrolic he's just stoic and sometimes has a RBF roflll.
