realise nothing at the movies: kind hearts and coronets
i wasn't expecting to have this much fun with a film from 1949, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Well done old chaps
Actually living in London does improve this sort of thing I think

To all my trans followers: I thank you from the bottom of my heart for Blusky's vibe
And if you would like an individual thank you, please let me know and I will be only too happy to oblige at my earliest convenience
I have been partaking of the Ealing comedies of late and I should rather say I'm quite taken with them
the birthday haircut, 2024
i think we should make a mutual agreement where girls are nicer and men stop doing all that really bad stuff we've been doing
How much nicer? Because I kind of like doing bad stuff

an off beat comedy about sci-fi writing. Some very funny moments in this weird little loveletter to the dorkiest genre fare you can imagine
Jennifer Coolidge steals the screen as scatter brained gown designer mother of burgeoning teenage sci-fi author Benjamin Purvis.
Sam Rockwell also stuns in the film within a film sequences of the action described in the sci-fi stories of the film.
There's a lot worse ways to spend 90 minutes than with this delightful film
ah, that twisting of my stomach signifies that it's time for one of my daily rectal torture sessions that have been an exciting feature of my life ever since I bought this spicy pepper sauce that I can't stop myself from eating
Introducing Scrumblr: Tumblr Search!
This is version 0.1, it indexes your most recent 10,000 posts and then you can search the actual content of these posts.
Indexing takes a bit of time, but you only need to do it once, you can save your index and then load it again later.
Working on getting the index to be able to handle upwards of 10,000 posts. Browser JS starts to complain a little at that point
when I realised I could see all of my "realise nothing at the movies" posts with this search tool, that's when it sunk in
I call that a "holy shit" moment
Can someone tell me what the fuck this thing is that tumblr has when you open the console on the dashboard?
So it looks like Tumblr doesn't use user specific keys to look at blogs. I mean it's not a security vulnerability really, but it's a bit weird that we're all using the same one. Why even have a key on the endpoint?
So then the question is, can I post the key publicly? AWS and Slack and Discord automatically refresh any tokens if they detect them on the internet (specifically if the token has been accidentally uploaded to GitHub) . Will Tumblr do the same?
I also don't really want them to change this system because it makes it easier to use the Scrumblr search tool. So making a fuss about it isn't in my interest really
Made a new tumblr account using incognito mode to get a new api key to see if tumblr would notice a large number of requests.
The key I found is the same api key as the one I got from my normal account.
Could someone do me a favour?
I need you to find your api key and then reply to me with a sha256 hash of your key (this is so we can compare whether we have the same thing without actually revealing what the key is, because that would be bad if they are actually different)
It'll take less than 2 minutes and you might prove that tumblr uses the same api key for everyone when it comes to viewing blogs, which is quite funny
The instructions for fidning the key are here: https://scrumblr.netlify.app/
And then don't send the key itself, send a sha256 hash of your key. You can generate the hash here: https://emn178.github.io/online-tools/sha256.html
The hash of the key that I've found is f62b9b47a853d9faf264e92064c149005f3e212b599d6231216a770b3bd63364 so if your hash comes back as that, then we have the same key.
Alright so I've now got a webpage that can index any blog and then search the posts with actual text matching
The problem now is that I'm a bit too scared to use it. I've set a limit on it, so it stops at 400 posts, which is about 10 requests.
My blog has about 40,000 posts, which means I'd need to make 1000 requests to index the whole thing.
Would Tumblr notice me making 1000 requests?
Why is there a JSON object describing a horse named Baroque in the local storage of my browser for tumblr?
The upper limit on the number of posts you can get with one call to the tumblr api seems to be 43. Is that like a joke?
Trying out tumblr's api to see if I can make a search function and noticed that they actually have the word "goofed" in the error messaging if you connected without providing a bearer token
