Jacaranda flowers look great on the tree, pleasant on the eye when recently fallen, and resemble dog poo in colour and squelchiness after a few days.

This spot is the lovely no traffic break on Riley Street in Sydney’s Darlinghurst.

menus and typos

i don't always read a lot of menus i print (and that includes some that i typeset as well but that's not important right now) but recently i've picked up some corporates that like to lunch and like custom menus on some fine card stock and i like to check out the beer lists in particular

so am running some collateral for a function and stop to check out what the well to dos will be quaffing whilst the worker is working and see on the wine list directly above

i contact the design team because i hate running duds i know will be duds and tell them there's a fat finger typo - we all do it - and there's a stray 'b' in wilkinbson

it should of course be wilkinson - i even took 8 seconds out of my day to google the bevvy in question to confirm - and the response i get

"we contacted the winery and yeah that's how they spell it"

Noooooo. It’s time to educate the children. That was a reference to a movie that came out 6 YEARS EARLIER than Shrek. It’s called “Babe” and it is a treasure. It’s an adorable, hilarious, and occasionally REALLY dark live-action “kids” movie that takes place on a picturesque farm where the animals talk to each other. It’s about a piglet named Babe that gets adopted by the farmer’s sheep-dog because he was sad and she just had a litter. So he learns how to herd sheep, but the sheep don’t take him seriously because he is a fucking pig without the scary bite and bark. So Babe’s solution iS TO ASK THEM NICELY. So I won’t spoil the ending, but the QUOTE IS “That’ll do, pig. That’ll do.” Watch it, it is super worth your while.
