Jennifer Bartlett is an artist who paved the way in the 1970s for younger, especially female, artists interested in monumental installation. She became known for her signature grid works: fabricated steel plates coated with white enamel and a silkscreened grid. As opposed to other artists at the time who used the grid to model mathematical ideals and consistency, she would playfully arrange colors and forms and shapes. .
