Now it could just be because she is a healer and she uses these herbs but its still an interesting link to Sorscha having some sort of witch descent.

So I've been thinking on the Cochran witch thing. And her family hails from fenharrow. In so many fantasy books I have read witches live in "the fens" or swampy areas. Is this a reference to these books or is there some link back to this in fokelore that I'm just unaware of? Thought I'd throw this your way because your good at sorting through this stuff. Also have you finished tod? Don't want to spoil you if your just on tumblr as well as reading it. :)
HI! Sorry. My inbox is a literal maze. You sent this forever ago and I just kept forgetting to respond! And I’m honestly not familiar with “the fens.” But I’ll tag @sarahviehmann because she would know. I haven’t read a lot of witch centered or related stories recently. Tho I do feel like this is ringing a bell in my brain from an old British story about a knight (which does NOT narrow it down 😂). I’m blanking on the name and the author. Lol. And it this is actually a thing then I think it’s just one more piece of evidence we could add to the growing list of “Where in the world are the Crochan witches hiding?”
