On mate bonds: It would be interesting if people only got mate bonds as a reward for something they have done in their lifetimes.
Feyre - dying for others utm
Rhysand - staying UtM for others to be safe in Velaris/his court
Cassian - sacrificing his wings/ upbringing/ protecting fellow illyrians during the war
Nesta - the cauldron, sacrificing herself, trying to save elain, trying to save cassian, trying to save feyre (in acotar when she went searching for her- for people who disagree)
Etc etc
Is it so rare because fae don’t tend to think of anyone but themselves?. The ones we know have mates all made some sort of sacrifice for someone else. 🤔🤔
