Featured Article: Sexy Lamp Test

What do a female character and a sexy lamp have in common? Absolutely nothing - except when they’re both irrelevant to a story plot. In 2013, comic book writer Kelly Sue DeConnick created the Sexy Lamp Test to gauge whether female characters are relevant and well-represented in stories. Essentially, DeConnick explained, “if you can take out a female character and replace her with a sexy lamp,” you’re doing something wrong.

Illyria… vs Erilea…

Sounds the same/similiar - coincidence or something more?

Illyria (as in the illyrians). Acotar/acomaf/acowar.

Erilea (the name of the northern continent? in the throne of glass books)

Are they the same? But changed over time? Etymology… or is it that weird parrallel world theory popping up again.

I really want that “world of throne of glass” book. I might want it more than TOG7 😱

Well I dont know about throne of glass, but courts and people are kind of loosely based on actual ancient names I think? Illyria is an ancient name for the balkan areas I think. Hybernia is Ireland, and Tarquinius was a Roman King.

That's cool! I didn't know that, I knew the geography was similiar but as I'm not from that part of the world so my history on the area is limited, I was making a few connection but not those ones. 😊
