So the Blood Rite takes place in the Spring, and Nesta’s birthday is also in the Spring. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
Nessian Theory
So I’m currently writing a post-ACOFAS Nessian fic and I was rereading the scene where Cassian reflects on his time during the Blood Rite. When I stumbled upon this I had a ‘holy shit’ moment.
WHAT IF Cassian and Nesta participate in the Blood Rite in the next book? We’ve had so much information about it and it’s clear that the Blood Rite plays some sort of significant role in the next book.
A lot of people, including me, have been wondering if Nesta would do the Rite in order to heal in some way. What if she did it with Cassian?
They would stick together throughout and get to know each other but at the same time have to protect one another. It would force Nesta to speak with him and use the rage bottled up inside her in a way that’s necessary.
Idk, let me know what you guys think! I just thought it would make a very good conflict and plot!
**If you reblog this please remember to tag it for spoilers!**
I got the same vibes! I feel like not only will this be something that strengthens their relationship but also a major plot point in the “Cassian feels the need to really be accepted by the Illyrians” story that started in ACOFAS.
I wonder if it's going to be a question of letting females participate in the blood rite. Nesta and emerie being similiar would definitely fight for their right to participate. Cassian would participate just to keep those he loves alive for the whole duration. Even if he had to be sneaky because they don't want his help.
