I finished reading Heir of fire and... I think I better comment when I recover of my trauma
thinking about the beginning of heir of fire when aelin is in an alley in Wendlyn and she’s like “well at least things can’t get any worse” and then rowan fucking whitethorn walks in like:

The Thirteen take Flight “We are the thirteen, from now until the darkness claims us.” She said it quietly, but knew all could hear her. “Let’s remind them why.” - Manon Blackbeak

50 DAYS OF TOG → 4/8 Books: Heir of Fire
She was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one.
When you’re reading a book with multiple perspectives and it’s taking forever to get to your favourite character’s chapter:
Favourite SJM Characters as voted by my followers [2/5] - Lysandra
Lysandra said softly, “I will not apologize to you. I serve her. And I am willing to spend the rest of my life pretending to be her so that her sacrifice isn’t in vain—” “You can go to hell,” Aedion snapped. “You can go to hell, you lying bitch!” Lysandra’s answering snarl wasn’t human.
Kingdom of Ash is nearly here! To celebrate, here is part two of the four-piece ToG / HoF papercraft series.
I consider Aelin’s part in Heir of Fire my favorite arc in the ToG series. She reached her lowest point as an assassin, broken and lost, and came bursting out at the end as our queen! This scene in particular was a first turning point for her and I hope I could relay the emotions she was feeling (as well as Rowan’s) as she began to free and embrace her true self.
@FAENET event: antagonists → Maeve
Maeve lowered the mask and drawled to Aelin, “Rumor claims you will bow to no one, Heir of Fire.” That serpentine smile. “Well, now you will bow to me.” She pointed to the sand. Aelin obeyed. Her knees barked as she dropped to the ground. “Lower.” Aelin slid her body until her brow was in the sand. She did not let herself feel it, let her soul feel it. “Good.” - Empire of Storms, Sarah J. Maas.
My completed Heir of Fire (and one of my favorite stagings as well!!) has finally been photographed! I have to say, this one might be my favorite defacing for TOG, at least so far. I still need to finalize designs for the remaining books, but I really love how this one turned out. I’ll be doing The Assassin’s Blade next, so stay tuned for that, as well as the timelapse for Heir of Fire (which should be up soon).
Until next time…

The Interconnection of ACOTAR and TOG and what this means for Kingdom of Ash
Welcome to Renee’s theory on how its all connected!
Masterlist to my official theories here. (aka the ones I spent time writing up)
Preface: Now it’s important to note that over time, as new ideas emerge - older theories may become less relevant. Before I start writing - I go in with the perspective that each new theory is on its own. I don’t require the information from other posts/ideas unless explicitly stated in the new theory.
So for this theory, I may refer to other theories I have already written, I may explain them here in a new context, and change my thoughts on them. I even have different paths available for the direction SJM can go. I’m pretty open to everything being a possibility until it is dis-proven in Canon. I paraphrased a fair bit. But if you know TOG well i’m sure you will remember the parts I’m talking about, and if possible I have put in brackets what book said what. CONTAINS REFERENCES TO BOTH TOG AND ACOTAR BOOKS. Also warning - I don't want to accidentally spoil anyone if I actually end up being right about anything, so maybe don’t read this until after KoA. haha. Well you can. But if I manage to get something right, I feel like I have warned you. :P Please Understand that I am trying to take things back to their simplest form, and there are links to wiki articles if you want to do your own reading for better understanding. Hellenistic philosophy for example makes my brain hurt, but if you want more I have linked it. I refer a bit to ancient Greek myth etc too. Tagging: @miladyaelin @bookofmirth @paperbacktrash @therapeuticrambling @lady-katkat @illyrianbeauty @photofeesh @slytherclaw713 @nephelle-warrior-scribe (I just tagged people who might be interested, I will not be offended if you don’t want to read it. :D)
So to start I’m going to propose that the Worlds of Acotar and Prythian are connected.
That they are linked. How? They are not the “same world” but neither are they different. A year ago I wrote a post called “Erilea” (here). Through discourse and discussion with other people in the fandom on this post, we came up with some cool ideas on why Prythian and Erilea look similar in terms of geography.
- Ice age - Change in the Sea Levels. Making Erilea and Prythian the same world at different times. Either Prythian came first or Erilea. Either was an option.
- Parallel worlds - multi-world theory, They are the same place with small differences in their history that changed the make up of those worlds (a sliders reference). These worlds can be connected to each other through a Wyrdgate or wormhole.
But now I have a third theory. A theory about Why Prythian looks a lot like Erilea. And it’s a little Fantastical and I love it. I will be happy if this is not the case too - but it’s always nice to try and solve a puzzle. I believe if the worlds are linked we will find out in Kingdom of Ash. So BEWARE : IF MY THEORY IS RIGHT THEN THERE MAY BE KOA SPOILERS. Of course - i’m just a fan of these books who loves theory - so it’s possible I just have an overactive imagination as well. :D
Throne of Glass Characters - Master Chef Edition.
(sorry I couldn’t help myself)
During this elimination round; contestants are each at their bench, preparing to make a dish their favourite dish to “wow” the judges. One of the Chef’s walks down to see what they are all making. Chef: So Please Tell us what you are making today… Aelin: Well I found some chocolate and thought I’d make a cake. Chef: So where are the rest of your ingredients? Aelin: … Chef: Eggs? Flour? Aelin: It’s a C H O C O L A T E cake *Chef nods head and moves on quickly* Chef: How about you Mr Ashryver? Aedion: Oh I’m trying this grilled meat dish from my homeland that we sometimes have to make when we are on the move. Life can be nomadic at times. *Chef looks suspiciously at the meat on a stick over an open flame* Chef: And this is going to taste good? *Aedion rubs his chin in contemplation* *Chef leave Aedion to finish his meat-on-a-stick* Chef: Please tell me you have some sort of plan… he whispers - I’m starting to wish I didn’t sign up for this… Manon: I was going to use human blood… *Chef’s face goes pale* Manon: But its a touchy subject with the others here, so I’m making do with a charred goat dish. *Chef looks at Manon - still concerned for his life* Manon: It’s Abraxos’ favourite, it will even have a dandelion garnish. Chef: Who is Abraxos? Manon: My Wyvern, Our Savior? Don’t you keep up with current events?
*Manon’s iron teeth glint in the light as she tries to smile sweetly. Chef quickly moves on down the table looking up to the friends and Family watching from the rafters, sharpening daggers* Chef: My… I mean Mr Havilliard, how about you? what are you cooking for us today? Dorian: I’ve made a stuffed pheasant from the game my dear friend Chaol went and caught for me this morning. I’m going to add a red wine jus, fondant potatoes and roasted vegetables. A classic Dish. Perfect for any fine feast. Chef: Really? Dorian: Yes, it shall be delicious. Chef: I’m so so so looking forward to it! Aelin: *shouts from the front bench* Are you going to eat it like a “fine lady” at your “fine feast”? *Aedion sniggers* *Dorian turns red faced* Dorian: Honestly, sometimes those two have no manners. I need to get back to stuffing my Pheasant. Judges Panel talking while the contestants finish cooking. Chef: And there we have it! Some interesting dishes. What dish are you most looking forward to? Chef 2: Do we have to try them all? Chef: Three contestants can go through to the next round and join the others. Nesryn - the baker, Emrys - that amazing home cook and Yrene - with her sweet spiced treats from the southern continent. Oh how I wish we had a preemptive selection process. Chef 2: But do I have to E A T them all? I need more talented Chefs in this competition, Why did we agree to this! Chef 3: See that man in the rafters, the one with the tattoos on his face. You are going to love that cake or we are all in trouble. Chef: Yes, I think that cake will be the best one by far Chef 2: You have GOT to be KiDdiNg mE! Chef: It’s the only logical solution. Chef 2: You want to go against the one with iron nails? and that beast outside sniffing the rosemary and Lavender? Chef 3: The Goat dish will also be delicious. Chef 2: So I have to choose between meat on a stick of the KINGS Pheasant! Chef: Do you really have a choice? After the Taste Testing:
Chef: I am sorry to say that Aedion will be going home today. A delicious dish, but just not quite up to the same level as the others. Aedion: AELIN GAVE YOU A CHOCOLATE BAR? HOW IS THAT COOKING! *Chef quickly glances at the rafters and sees sharp canines glinting in the light* Chef: The judges have made their decision after much deliberation. We are sorry General. But know that you made it into the Top 7! What an Achievement. Aedion: There were only 10 of us to start with! *Aedion grumbles as he makes his way out of the building*
