Oh I’m sure there are a tonne, I really should try and catch up on them but I’ve been a little out of the fandom loop.
I know that the fact there is a crossover is prominent among theories. And because of this people are trying to find anything that supports their older theories so theories that were popular after silver flames - are making a resurgence. For example the dusk court.
I’m just waiting to see what SJM herself will write and how it will go rather than theorising. One because I have limited time to theorise and reread, and secondly because I was underwhelmed by hosab. It was hard to finish and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to so I’m not interested in theorising about it. Which is sad because I normally enjoy SJM and can’t put her books down.
But if your interested in theories, I’ve been collecting them on the @sjm-fantheoryarchive for a few years now they just might not be the most recent ones as I haven’t been participating in fandom as much.

I am re-reading ACOSF very slowly and maybe i'll feel some inspo for headcanons again. I did a random one about Elain the other day and I think there is a Tarquin one from a few weeks ago too.
I keep seeing these beautiful dresses and fashion items across my dashboard and have graphic images assault me of who would wear it and when, but it requires me to write actual fic and that currently requires to much brain power.

See it’s funny because the same reason you think elucien could work as dusk court is the same reason e/riels think they will be dusk court. Except it’s that az is of the nc and Elain loves sun or something like that. A reason I’m not crazy about dusk court theory. But both can make sense and it just again proves that e/riels are too confident about their ship when literally anything could happen.
so, I have this ask twice in my inbox and no idea when it came in as i've been mia from tumblr because #drama seems to be fandoms default setting at the moment no matter the fandom... but anyway..... ill attempt to assume I know which post its related to. Its from a few weeks back I think.
My main thought for a dusk court was because Lucien is an heir to the Day court and I don't want him or Helion to die. But I'd love for him to have a chance at being High Lord. I also think the aesthetic of sunsets and parties with courtiers and summer balls would be amazing. Lucien would fit right in.
For political alliances sake I can see Rhysand sharing some of his unfathomable power as the most powerful high lord but it would be nice if he didn't have to. Elain has become a citizen of the night court by association. And I can see a drowery type situation with magic to marry a high lord when technically Elain is a commoner (was human now fae - using that term because I can see there being historical romance storyline with Elain or 19thC inspo from Jane Austen).
If I wanted to I could look at other potential ships in relation to a dusk court. But this court doesn't exist - in order for it to exist some of the magic has to come from somewhere. If it acts like the other courts in Prythain then the magic would need to come from the high lords already in existence. It would make sense to me that both Rhys and Helion as having courts that book end "dusk" that they could each give up some of their power. It could also balance the seasonal and the solar courts with 4/4.
If I look at Elain and Azriel and the potential dusk court - where does the sun come from? where does the dusk come from? Is it inherently a part of the night court alone? I'm asking because I haven't seen these theories and sure, i'm not online a fraction of what I was a year or even two years ago and new stuff comes out all the time - but I need some sort of logic to work this out.
If Rhys has dusk as a part of his court then was it a court to previously exist? were the illyrians a part of their own court? was the court of nightmares separated? I'm not sure - we don't have the answers. Does Azriel's dad have more say over the Illyrians than Devlon? Was he conquered? Who is he? would Az accept an inheritance from the dad that hurt him? Would his dad even offer? If it's magic to rival the other courts would Rhys have enough to share with his best bud. Spreading himself over two courts would be tricky and wouldn't the dusk court always be seen as the tacked on little buddy that was added later and still under Rhys' thumb.
After writing all this I realise this might have been sent in by an elucien because elriel is marked out. I didn't really click that was the case until the end and i'm not trying to shit on a ship. I don't have enough evidence from logicly trying to figure it out and also from the text its all pie in the sky stuff.
Maybe if Elain and Az discover the ancient dusk court and there is some hidden power there they uncover and absorb then I guess that's possible (anything can happen right?) but this could also happen to Jurian or Vassa or Lucien or Emerie or any other string of characters we have grown to know and love. I don't really think so but ya never know. And if that's the case then I'd need to think about why those two would be on a mission together.
It could be more likely that we have hunting parties out scouting for the Valkyries settlement/training grounds and the home of the pegasus rather than a dusk court. But maybe that's the perfect time to spring some unexpected history of prythian on us - I don't know.

So I started my Nyx Headcanons with this post here .
So now I’m up to Nyx as a small child…
- He’s very adventurous.
- And hasn’t seemed to have developed fear - whether this is because his parents have protected him so well or because he has the “I’m a big strong illyrian” mentality is yet to be seen.
- Rhys and Feyre haven’t quelled this - they have instead fostered it when he appears to be pushing himself.
- Pushing their buttons is a whole different thing and something he is also very good at.
- The pushing of buttons is frustrating because he is clever - so They cannot stay mad at him for long.
- One example of this was when he chose to fly from one of the top balconies in the main foyer into the chandelier. No one was around and he managed to make it to the large glass light. But once there he developed a sudden fear of falling - the ground below was tile, the stairs seemed too far and he didn’t want to get into trouble or have his wings fail on him - he was only starting to learn to glide.
- So he sat up there looking at the night stars on the ceiling above him and just let his feet dangle. It wasn’t until Rhys went looking for him in a panic that he called out to his father.
- When Rhys asked him what he thought he was doing, Nyx replied with “practising” and Rhys couldn’t really deny that practising was a good thing but perhaps next time they find somewhere less dangerous to do this. Nyx agreed and they walked off to get some dinner.
- Another example of Nyx learning about the world was when Feyre was doing some painting with him, she would often take Nyx to her studio and they would paint together.
- He was always painting on pottery or plates or models, just anything that wasn’t canvas. He once painted another child in the class, turning his blue skin black and adding teeth that stretched right along from ear to ear. Feyre sighed, and sent them to the bathroom to clean up.
- After 20 minutes she went to look for them.
- The bathroom was covered in black paint, black handprints on the soap, on the door handle, little black footprints all along the tiled floor because Feyre didn't realise how far they had gone with their special effects makeup.
- Feyre directed them into the corner of the room above a drain and proceeded to pour water on them both from the Ceiling using her magic. She knew Nyx wasn’t nearly as covered in paint as the other Fae he had painted, but she decided a cold shower might encourage him to not do it again.
- The boys sat in a corner wrapped in towels giggling while the lesson continued.
- Nyx is clever. Not just smart but clever about how the world works.
- He sees patterns and can sometimes predict the way an argument might go, or the way a stack of blocks will fall, or even which Aunt of Uncle is more of less likely to fall for his pranks.
- Noone is sure when the pranks started, but they continue to escalate.
- It started with sweets vanishing and clues left behind framing various aunts and uncles - Cassian was the Easiest to Frame, he had yet to succeed in Framing Azriel.
- One of the most recent pranks involved leaving different family members belongings in other family members rooms. This would instantly have them talking about personal space and what was and wasn’t ok. While this happened Nyx was then able to explore the mansion as he pleased - it was always more fun when no one was with you.
- He learned quickly that he needed to let the House of Wind know he wanted to explore alone, none of his pranks ever worked up there. Belongings would return to where they needed to be. Candy would vanish from the shelf in front of his eyes, and until he saw Nesta summon a pegasus from the house Nyx thought it was haunted.
- Nesta told him the secret of the house and that if he was a good biy and kind to the house that the house would be kind back.
- Of course Nyx was always kind to the house and started getting presents immediately when he visited and even had secret doors open for him when he was trying to escape someone in his family.
- He loved his family, but alone time was sacred when you were so wanted.
- The house was actually the start of him using his magic more.
- While with Mum and Dad he was always watched using his magic, which is fine - but as he became more aware that he might have a lot of power he started to explore it on his own.
- He didn't want to hurt anyone, and was scared what it might do
- So the House made him a special place.
- Deep in the bowels of the house of wind, was a special room, lit with fae light and polished marble walls, light came into the room from a window near the top of the cavern.
- Nyx didn't ask questions but this room was where he started to play with his darkness.
- To let it come to him from the shadows, to wrap around himself or the items of furniture.
- He did once obliterate a chair and wasn’t sure how that happened exactly, but the next time he came back the house had remade the room exactly as it was before the incident.
- By the age of 7 Nyx wasn’t sure if he had inherited his mothers magic, sometimes he wondered if it was even possible since she was “made”, but he had definitely inherited his dad’s powers of darkness.
- He spoke to the house in his mind and wasn't sure if this was “house magic” or a beginning of some dematai powers, if he mentioned it to his dad then his dad would want to know why he was at the house of wind so much and he didn't really want to share.
- He had been having lessons with Rhys since he was a small boy but everything was simple to Nyx, wrapping himself in a warm blanket of darkness was nice, but he needed to explore all sides of his magic.
- His dad was also determined to teach him how to read and write as well as learning his numbers telling him that it was an important skill for anyone to learn. Nyx was getting very good at rolling his eyes during these lessons.
- In the streets, There had been some weird encounters, whispering behind him or voices shouting out - but whenever he turned he couldn't see anyone looking at him
- he had decided that he would ask his dad how his powers started since he at least grew up with magic - not like mum. It was on his ever growing to-do list.
Next anon wanted some date-night Nyx and another wanted some teenage Nyx…. so prepare for some teenage Nyx Hc’s to come.

Cassian Headcanons (post Acosf)
- He loves books as much as Nesta and enjoys going book shopping as much as she does
- They both have massive TBR piles
- Cassian gets nagged by Azriel for having books littered in the lounge - but Nesta does too and Azriel says nothing. Hers are placed all around the room, on shelves, end tables, bags; whereas his are in a pile next to his favourite chair making it more obvious.
- Cassian doesn’t like to leave the house of Wind now and kinda hates that his job takes him away from Nesta.
- This is just because he likes spending time with her.
- Cassian has turned one of the rooms in the house of wind into a “strategic” planning room and asked the house to place wards on it - it's where he can do his daily work while still being close enough to Nesta in case she gets hurt training her new Valkyries - You never know how a lesson might go.
- The Strategic Planning Room has a lot of his gathered information on the illyrian camps as well as a whiteboard with names of people to keep an eye one.
- He knows that Azriel has much more detailed reports somewhere in his spy rooms that no-one may enter - but Cassian likes to be reminded by the names being right in his face.
- There may also be small stick figures on the board with swords and heads chopped off and blood around because some days that's just what he wants to do to them.
- Nesta has stood outside the hall to the strategic planning room and begged the house to let her in and the house just makes distractions appear, nice candles, a new book, sometimes a tiny pegasus to float down the hall in the opposite direction.
- Cassian has become a valuable asset to the Valkyrie training, he is always there to call on when Gwyn wants to test a new technique, of course she is reading her papers and Nesta and Cassian are often the ones on the mats or with the swords or with the “I’m going to fuck you so hard after this” eyes baring down on eachother.
- Cassian has been asked by Emerie to “please leave training soon”, after this and Nesta follows.
- He has taken his Uncle duties seriously.
- Very seriously.
- He has acquired a cot for the House of Wind made in Velaris, he knows it's not the fanciest but when he saw an elderly fae whittling wood near the palace of jewels and threads he knew that he wanted something made for Nyx.
- Of course he told Rhys and Rhys went and ordered one straight away with all the best features to surprise Feyre, but Cassian kept the original for the house and when Nyx visits or if he himself might need a small bed for someone - its ready and waiting.
- Cassian's cot is simple, with each turning of the wood visible and flames carved upon the rods on the sides, a rose in the middle of each headboard and stars on each corner for the three sisters who made prythian a better place.
- Rhys’ version is a high lord's gift. Symbols of the Night Court adorn it and Feyre loved the hand carved nature - a special place for their special boy.
- Speaking of Nyx, Cassian has watched him a total of 5 times.
- Each time Nyx was already asleep and it was an event Feyre and Rhys could not get out of
- Nyx was still alive when they got home and Cassian views that as a successful night.
- Cassian also won't tell them that he read to Nyx and checked he was breathing several times for fear that something might have gone wrong on his watch. He just told them Nyx was an angel and slept the whole time they were gone.

Hi, i saw the post about the acosf sample. I have an Australian Amazon account, as there is no Amazon New Zealand :)), and I have my shipping location set as New Zealand, but I can't find the sample :( How did you find it or do you use Amazon from another country?
I am connected to the USA one because when I signed up that might have been the only one? Idk how long amazon aus has been a thing. I have been tempted to get an aus one because on release day I have to wait until 4pm ish to get my book as usa ticks over to the release day - but I’m just lazy. Haha. Country is set to nz tho.
I honestly have no idea how I got it, I tried to get bookclub to get it and they couldn’t.
I was just having a look on the kindle app on my phone. I was already looking at/reading a sample from a different book and decided to search acosf just incase and it said - would you like a sample. And I screamed and downloaded it and felt like it was the holy grail or something. But no one else I know has been able to get it so maybe it’s a glitch or maybe Amazon shut down ways to get it?

Unpopular opinion... but I’m not exactly thrilled with the nesta book being hailed as sexy and... idk. I’m honestly scared that the entire book is going to revolve around smut. I’ve been disenchanted with SJM for awhile now— but nesta is a character I love so much, I’m going to give this novel a try. But... I’m thinking I’m going to be set up for disappointment. I hate that this is the novel of the ACOTAR realm she’s choosing to launch into the ‘adult genre’. Maybe I’m reading too much into the reviews, but... I guess it’s what they’ve always said: sex sells.

I was actually thinking about the change in her genre today when I couldn't find any of the ACOTAR books on the shelf. They weren't in the YA section anymore at all (only Tog) and they only had a few copies in the main fiction section. There wasn’t any Crescent City their either. So of the two stores I went to they are either sold out/ or covid has made things scarce or they are holding back until the next week or two when A Court of Silver Flames is out.
Anyway - where I’m going with that is that SJM’s shelf and impact has been dramatically reduced. She used to dominate the YA section with her books. Now I had trouble finding her today and it's just because there are less titles in both sections. So for a publishing company to make this change is a big deal. They are shifting their audience, they are splitting their marketing for her series into two different teams and splitting her books parts of the stores/libraries etc. So its not a decision taken lightly.
With that in mind I do think that this is going to be more along the lines of a Paranormal Romance than straight Fantasy. Sure it's set in a Fantasy world but the characters are older and it's a romance. Its stand alone and specifically Nesta’s book. If you don’t want romance I actually probably wouldn’t read it. I love romances so it's not a turn off for me.
In terms of Smut, I find SJM pretty tame - there is so many hotter things out there, but I understand that it can still be off putting for people not wanting to read that. When I first read COM way back when I was fine with fade to black for Chaol and Celeana because that's what I expected for YA. When I read EOS my eyes jumped out of my head just because I wasn't expecting it. By the time I read ACOMAF I was like - wow ok SJM includes smut now.
People cannot be mad at SJM for having smut in A Court of Silver Flames.
She has warned us.
The Genre has been changed from YA to adult.
She has even said - it has sexy times multiple times.
You do not go in without warning, and you can make a choice. I’m sure if people waited to read it then others out there could be like - avoid this chapter and this chapter but the rest is fine. (like I would give people a heads up where explicit stuff is if they really wanted to avoid it).
As a Nesta lover, who is also older and has been with SJM since 2012 reading her books I am so excited. I feel like I have grown with SJM as an author as she has become more confident to tell the stories she wants to read and not what is necessarily expected of her or the genre.
I also feel like if people loved ACOMAF and didn't mind the sexy times in that then they honestly shouldn't mind the sexy times in the new book - just my opinion because ACOMAF isn't tame and neither is ACOWAR.
Nesta is older than Feyre too, we know she’s sexually experienced from reading ACOFAS, would we want fade to black? or missing out on her sassing people in bed? or missing out on banter or miss-steps? I wouldn’t. I want to see the messy and the good because I don't expect easy sailing.
Review wise - People often react to what is on top for them. I alway get hyped about the world building because YES GIVE IT TO ME. Other people get hyped about the Sex, I’d see what those reviewers rate other books like too, I try to not look at a review in isolation - if they read a lot of romance and rate it highly then you can infer what their taste is like. I follow people on Goodreads who I know have similar taste to me. I follow others too but I don't necessarily take their reviews into consideration because I know that we all have different tastes. I think overall I can trust 2 or 3 people to always tell me books I will love. I cannot go with the hype, it often ends up with a let down for me.
Sorry for Rambling Nonnie! I don’t think your opinion is that unpopular either. A lot of us are scared for different reasons. Im scared its not going to reflect the Nesta that I have inferred exists - because there is such limited page time of her so far. I’m concerned that Nesta will be rushed through her healing. But i'm not concerned for the romance because SJM makes me root for her OTP’s.

Here is a link to what I wrote - It’s a part of a bigger fic I am working on but this chapter can be read in isolation. As long as you take it as its set in the illyrian Mountains and Cassian + Nesta are still trying to get used to their feelings. There will be a part 2 (next chapter) at least if you felt like you wanted more....

Um no I don’t. That sure would be fun though. In the past I have just done edits for fun, but I haven’t done anything in ages and I’m still such a newbie that I don’t think I’m good enough to commission. And if it’s a real live book then I wouldn’t want to give my services away for free ya know.
However if you wanted to find some talented edit makers to do a book cover @faenet has some great editors/creators.
