You're definitely not on your own!! We love our Gus here on space tumblr 🥰💙🫶
Gus is like the brother you want to have around to help you in difficult situations. Plus he would be great cuddles.

We miss them always.
“We chased the MIGs around, and the MIGs chased us around, and I usually got shot at more than I got to shoot at them… You get used to handling yourself in a situation like this, when death is supposedly knocking at your door. You are scared, but you learn to take care of yourself.” -Gus Grissom, We Seven
Gus in Korea after completing his 100th combat mission, 1952.
From early 1952 to late summer he flew a F-86 Sabre with the 334th Fighter Squadron, part of the 4th Fighter-Interceptor Wing, stationed at Kimpo Air Base. His request to stay in Korea to fly an additional 25 missions was denied. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his “superlative airmanship” and Air Medal with Cluster.
