Can the Harry Potter fandom have some sort of fic/art fundraising drive where we all create works about trans issues in the magical world, and all the money we raise goes to helping trans folks, and can we make this huge, just as a giant Fuck You to JK Rowling?

Her birthday is July 31 if anybody wanted to pick a day for such an event to take place

Okay, let me figure out the details and I’ll launch it!

I am working on putting this together, but I would love input from those more involved in the HP fandom, and from transgender folks so I can do the best job possible and come up with a good title for the fundraiser, as well as suggestions on foundations to support!

Here is a link to the dreamwidth journal I created for this event. Right now I’m still coming up with a timeline, gathering resources, and just figuring this out. I have participated in fandom auctions before, but never run one, so I welcome any and all help. I have NEVER written for HP fandom before, but I’m sorely tempted.  Sharing for my followers more involved in that fandom!

I can’t be the first one to point out that in a world with such a thing as Polyjuice Potion it is really 100% impossible that nobody has ever used it or something similar for transitioning, and that if in fact there are NOT wizards out there who specialize in transition magic, there must be a pretty dark explanation of WHY not.

I’m really proud of the fandom for coming together in support. If you are a writer, an artist, or just a lover of HP I recommend volunteering your skills in whatever form they may be. Or perhaps bidding on the work of someone else.
