i imagine that frerin is a craftsman, dís tends to the ravens of ravenhill, and thorin is a musician :)

thinking about how thorin’s gaze softened every time he looked at bilbo, he was so in love with him that even when he was in his madness, bilbo was able to break through and make him genuinely smile.

just read a fic in which bilbo was sick, and thorin looked like this all the time because of it

it always confused why everyone would arrive at bilbo’s house separately if they all traveled to the shire together but then i realized. that trick gandalf pulls on beorn. where he has everyone come in slowly instead of all at once. its the same thing hes doing to bilbo.

now the question remains: is this gandalf’s go-to plan when trying to make someone okay with having 13 dwarves in their house, or does he view bilbo and beorn as both uniquely unhinged individuals who need to be handled like a wild animal that could bite at any minute? i need to Know

LOVE when the camera does a close-up of Thorin’s face during the confrontation on the ramparts. Guy in the intimidating crown who is largely responsible for the mess they’re all in is making the saddest and most pathetic wet cat face you can imagine. Oh my god hes fucking crying. What a weiner.
