As usual, this is my personal opinion.

To me Jaybabs is the fruit of bad writing and boredom. The DC writers wanted drama and they were still in their period “Hey let’s turn Jason Todd into Dick Grayson”. (Not sure it has really stopped though) And it was catastrophic and so OOC.

One day Babs expresses her attraction to Jason and he tells her “No we can’t cause I’m not Grayson” bla-bla-bla and then he confesses his “love” for her by leaving a message on her phone he ultimately erases. I’m not a huge Barbara fan , but I don’t think she is that bitchy and drama thirsty enough to shag with both Batboys (it’s already really sad they did this with Kory). Plus, Barbara never got over Dick Grayson. She always has and always will have feelings for him. She is his epic love.

Plus that would not have worked. The only thing Jason and Barbara bond over is the pain of being Joker’s victims. That’s exactly what the writers have highlighted because yeah, there is nothing else since we barely see them together.

So yeah let Babs (and Kory) be Dick’s love(s) and give Jason someone made for him.

How did you meet? Dick: In a party in Blüdhaven where Wally had dragged him along. You were singing out loud next to your best friend, jumping up and down, laughing. That’s how you caught Dick’s eyes. Wally noticed him staring at you and literally pushed him to talk to you. He spilled his drink accidentally on you “ Oh I am so sorry.” “ It’s nothing.” God, he was gorgeous. “Damn man, you’re so clumsy.” Dick rolled his eyes at Wally. “Can he buy you another drink?”Barbara: There were a lot of abandoned cats in your neighbourhood and you had taken the habit to feed them. But most of them had disappeared recently. That’s how and when you met Catwoman and Batgirl. “ You say you want to help us” You nodded. “ No. A bat is already enough.” “ She could be helpful.” “ How? How could she be helpful?”

The beginning of your relationship:Dick: Dick is a sweetheart and when he loves someone he makes sure that that person knows it even if it means to act corny and let’s say overprotective. It was sweet at the beginning but it soon became oppressive. “Dick you’re an angel but you don’t need to be …”” Be what? We live in Blüdhaven. And if you don’t realise how dangerous it is then for a girl to… ” ” For a girl?” Yeah, your argued quite a few times but after some conversation you finally understood his point of view as much as he understood yours. Barbara: It started with some late night conversations in her hideout where she explained to you all the ins and outs of being a detective and computer mastermind. With time the conversation sessions in her hideout turned into making out sessions in her apartment. 

Your first kiss:Dick: “I won’t let you win.” Dick had been playing video games for hours.“ Let go Grayson. You will never break my record.” You had said but right now you were a bit tensed. He might actually do it. So when you noticed it you started touching him slowly until you decided to bury your face in his neck. He made him drop the remote to kiss you passionately. “That’s cheating” Barbara: Popcorn, a soft blanket, Evil Dead and Babs. Yeah that was a perfect night, for you at least because Barbara spent most of the time wincing.“ Talking about a bloody kiss. That’s disgusting.” You smiled and you kissed her. “That kiss however, not disgusting at all” She giggled and kissed you again.

“I love you”:Dick: Dick and you had been invited to the wedding of one of his friend back when he was still part of Haly’s Circus and seeing him, among his old friend, back on the road with acrobats and clowns, all smily and happy you realised that maybe his place was here. ” What? No. My place is not here. Not anymore. Sure I love being here but I love being with you more because you are my life now and I love you.” Barbara: Babs was feeling well. Her latest mission had been an immense failure and the Joker was back. So you tried to cheer her up by telling awful jokes. “ Look [Y/N], I appreciate your concern and I love you but …”“ No buts. Don’t ruin the I love you part with a but please.”

What he/she loves most about you:Dick: Your sense of humour. You always their to laugh at his terrible puns and to be honest, you actually appreciate them, contrary to many people.Barbara: Your hair colour. The purple hair suits your personality so well and makes your beautiful eyes stand out.

How did you meet?Stephanie: At Gotham Academy. You had just moved in Gotham City because of your studies and got enrolled in Gotham Academy just like Stephanie (Thanks Bruce Wayne). You were in the same class but she never talked to you until the day she asked to be part of the school rugby team.“ No, no girls allowed in the team” The captain was categorical. But he didn’t know Stephanie. As a response she tackled him. Unable to stand up again, as she was using all her body weight to keep him on the ground, he finally said yes.“ That was badass” You said“ Thanks”  Jason: At the beach. Jason was spending some well deserved holidays with Roy and Kory on an heavenly island. But those weren’t the holidays he had planned. Isabel had just broken up with him. “ Stop wallowing in self-pity, Jaybird. Enjoy the sun, the beach, the beautiful girls in tiny bikinis … or the men with shiny tanned skin. Your choice.”“ I’m not in the mood, Roy. And stop calling me Jaybird” “ Fine I’ll pick one for you… Him” He pointed out at you“ Don’t you dare…” Too late Roy was already running towards you.   

The beginning of your relationship:Stephanie: Stephanie is lively and full of energy and you admire her for that. She had a tough childhood and still, she was the most joyful person around you. A real ray of sunshine. That’s how she quickly saw through your shell of “Mr blunt and intimidating” and realise how sweet you were. Jason: Not easy. People who found you blunt and intimating definitely didn’t know Jason Todd. He was not easy to pinpoint. He was so paradoxical. Sometimes a bit cold, sometimes truly caring. You wanted to let go at some point but somehow you knew that there was something in him that was worth staying.

Your first kiss:Stephanie: You had told her how much you loved water so she invited you to Wayne manor to enjoy the covered pool. Obviously, swimming was not the only thing she had in mind. ” I always knew you were a bit of a harlot, Brown” That was Damian. Cock-blocking little demon spawn! “ Get out of here, Damian!” She threw her towel at him and he ran away. ”  I’m sorry. I’m not … He’s lying. I …”“ I know.” You said before kissing herJason: You were showing him your drawings. He was truly interested in them but then he stopped talking.“ Are you okay?”Sure he was. He just wanted to kiss you. So he did

“I love you”:Stephanie: You had brought Stephanie to your home in Britain. You wanted her to meet your family and friends. She was terrified.“ It’s going to be fine.” “ How can you say that? What if they hate me?” “ They won’t.” “ You don’t know that.”“ Of course I do. How can they hate when I love you like crazy.” Jason: You had had a fight, a terrible fight. That is why, one night, you found a gift waiting for you on your doormat. You growled a bit. You knew it was from him. But you opened it anyway. It was a limited edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Inside he had put a book mark at a very special page. “’Always,’ said Snape” It was Jason’s way to tell you how much he loved you. And it made you cry. 

What she/he loves most about you:Stephanie: Your accent. Though she tends to make fun of it by trying to imitate it, she loves your British accent. She finds it so elegant and classy, not like the one all the Gotham jerks that tried to seduce her have.Jason: Your eyes. Green is Jason’s favourite colour so naturally he has an insane fascination for your beautiful green eyes.

How did you meet?
Jason: Your family had financial problems. Your father had just lost hisjob at Wayne Enterprises for budget reasons and your mom’s income wasn’tenough to support you all. Therefore you went to Wayne Tower to ask for anappointment with Bruce Wayne. No, you would not beg for him to take back yourfather. You just needed him to know he had destroyed a family.“I’m sorry but Mr Waynecan’t see you.” “ I’m sure he’ll find amoment”“ It’s okay. She’s withme” You turned around and so this attractive young man, Jason Todd.Barbara: Barbara was working at the library when you came to submit yourCV. You were looking for a nice quiet work for the summer so what could bebetter than the city library? But you lost all hope in working there when younoticed the amount of CVs on her desk. However, you candidature was finallyaccepted and Barbara taught you how to manage the place.“ Looks like you’re doinggood.” “ Yeah. I love thisjob.” “ Then I did good bytelling the boss to choose you.”“ You did what?” 

The beginning of yourrelationship
:Jason: You loved being the onehard to get. So you made him wait and you teased him. It was so much fun. Well,until he understood your little game and started doing the same.”Sorry. Can’t cometonight. Roy is in town.” “Sorry got to fix my bike” “Sorry…” Youhated it. (see first kiss)Barbara: It started with lunch picnics in front the library, sitting onthe steps to sweet kisses in the park during lunchtime. She was perfect foryou, so patient, so compassionate, so calm. She knew how to be with you and sheknew what to do to make you feel fine. She was the magic cure to your anxietyand ADHD

First Kiss:Jason: One night, you went to see him unexpectedly and when he openedthe door you just jumped him to kiss him passionately.“ Game’s over?” “ Shut up, Todd.” Yousaid. No need to say that many other kissed followed.Barbara: You were both working late. You had received a lot of historybooks that day and needed to number and file them. It took more time thanexpected and you were mainly responsible because you couldn’t help but skimthrough them all.“Oh gosh. I hadn’t seen.It’s so late.” “ It’s okay. Don’t worry.”She said as she stared at you longingly before kissing you softly.

:Jason:
 Jason was always worried about you and your safety. Your were his little angel and he couldn’t even imagine what he’d do if someone hurt you. Therefore he decided to teach you how to defend yourself. But you didn’t him or his lessons. You already knew how to fight. When you knocked him down on the floor with some crazy martial art move he stared at you with widened eyes. “I love you.”  Barbara: You were both celebrating your birthday at Barbara’s. It was time for you to have your present. Barbara asked you to close your eyes. You obeyed and suddenly felt something hairy on your laps. When you opened your eyes you saw a cute little puppy with a huge red ribbon around the neck. “ Happy Birthday.” “ Oh my god!” “ Do you like him?”“ I love him and I love you.”“ I love you too.” 

What he/she loves most about you:Jason: He loves how fiery you can be and he literally idolises your sass. He won’t really admit it but he loves when you’re sassy with him.Barbara: You’re protective of your family, so is she. And that’s something that really important to her. It means she can count on you.

I guess you meant all of the batkids and not only the boys so here it is.HEADCANONS: When Bruce realised each of his kids were grown up.

Dick: When he threw his Robin cape at him, Bruce understood that Dick wasn’t a child anymore. But it was the day when he came back to the batcave in his Nightwing costume that he truly realised that he was not his little Robin anymore. And even though he was proud of the man he had become he couldn’t help but feel a little bit sad. 

Jason:  When Jason came back to the batcave for the first time after he came back to life, he went to take a look at his Robin costume that Bruce had placed in a glass case. Seeing him that tall and that broad next to his old small colourful costume made Bruce realised he was not longer the boy from Crime Alley. And that was like a huge slap in the face.

Tim: Tim has always been rather independent but he never gave up the name of Robin even after Damian’s arrival so Bruce didn’t really realised he had grown up until the day Tim moved in his very first hideout. Visiting him in here and seeing him working solo on a case left Bruce a bit unsettled 

Damian (older!): Damian has always been mature so Bruce never truly realised he had grown up until the day Alfred told him. Damian was in his early twenties and he had made an alliance with a “supervillain” to resolve a case. When Alfred made Bruce notice the sexual tension between the two and how similar their relationship was to Bruce’s relationship with Selina, Bruce understood Damian wasn’t a little boy anymore. 

Barbara: Whether Barbara was Batgirl or Oracle she was still Jim Gordon’s rebellious and brave daughter to Bruce’s eyes, the child he had secretly taken under his wing, trained and considered as family despite his attempts not to become too attached to her. But when he saw her giving informatics lessons to children in the library he realised she wasn’t the little girl he had trained anymore. His pupil was now the teacher.

Stephanie: Stephanie’s always been one of the most lively children of the family, along with Dick. Sometimes childish, it was hard for Bruce to see her as a grown woman. It took him few years and Stephanie to announce him that she was pregnant. Bruce then sat on a chair, speechless and tried to imagine his little girl as a mother.

Cassandra: Cassandra never truly had a childhood. Raised to be a deadly assassin she didn’t know what it was like to be child or to be loved. His father used to train her every day and Lady Shiva, her mother, was absent. As a consequence, she never said a word until a very special day.  She had just saved Bruce’s life and she was injured in his arms. She then whispered her first real sentence: “I did it because you’re my father.” Cassandra was not the conditioned child Bruce’s used to know. She had become so much more, a free woman.
