You drop a huge, metal, industrial safe on top of Jay Walker with an earth-shaking CLANG! that shatters the pavement. You open the safe. Jay leisurely saunters out, unharmed, without a care in the world. The bottom of the safe is undisturbed.
Theoretically, Jay might actually be able to do this.
The first thing I thought of when reading this was “ah yes, quantum tunneling”, which is when an electron “can appear on the opposite side of a barrier that should be impossible for the particle to penetrate”.

The brief explosion of everyone and their mother reblogging old Long Con posts was actually rather useful, since I have a few old ideas that I never stated or elaborated on as well as a few new ones now that I'm less busy, but I was wondering if anyone would still remember the events of the AU after, what, a year? Now you could say I have a pretty definitive answer.
Yasur's post about Lloyd vs. Egalt's teaching methods little earlier reminded me of this, but I'm making a separate post since it's not really entirely related, and I'm probably restating a few of her points anyways:
The thing that had me grinding my teeth in Dragons Rising s2 was the fact that, like... Egalt wasn't actually wrong. I do think that Arin would have benefit a lot from going back to first fang and learning the basics! Egalt was just a MASSIVE ASSHOLE about it. Like I imagine the audience was meant to, I didn't really like Egalt too much until Wyldfyre gave a new perspective on his whole "wasting my time" shtick, but even before that I had to admit that he was actually right about that.
Of course, even if he HAD been nice about it, there's still a good chance that Arin still would have been to deep in the "everyone's relying on me" pit for it to do anything, but still. Worth a shot.

If you were a Formling your animal form would be a chicken. If you got your animal form and it turned out to not be a chicken, you’d probably disappear on the night and reappear years later with an ice dictator.

I think Zane likes Coles bad cooking bc Zanes just doesn't have the ability to taste bad. Like it's not something he can register. He understands flavor and knows how to put together a 5 star Michelin meal, but Coles food to him is also good. He mostly registers Flavor, so Coles overseasoned charred dry chicken registers really High on the flavor scale vs Jay's spaghetti sauce out of a jar
#This also works really well with my headcanon where#Cole isn't actually bad at Flavor or even cooking in general#His super strength just gives him a VERY wrong idea of what the average person is capable of chewing#So from his perspective he made a perfectly good chowder#And everyone else getting their mouth glued shut by it is simply having a skill issue#Zane's made of metal so this would be a negligible problem for him as well
