Obi-Wan is touch-starved and opting not to do anything about it, so Cody takes measures into his own hands.

It was just starting to rain when he approached the General, and he settled a hand on his shoulder, hoping to draw him out of the deep thoughts into which he had fallen. Instead, Obi-Wan leaned into the touch, closing his eyes and breathing deeply for several moments until he startled and pulled away. “Forgive me, Cody. It seems the battle wore me down. Perhaps I should rest.”

Cody knew all too well what it was like to hide loneliness behind a curtain and name it exhaustion. Every day they were surrounded by other beings, but they stood apart from them as well, commanding officers rather than friends and family, even if Cody thought of every single one of his fellow clones as a brother. It was hard to keep in touch with the rest of the command batch when they all had such varied schedules, and though he spent time with the men, he always had to be mindful of how he behaved and what he said.

“Do you want company?”

There was a brief flash of hope in Obi-Wan’s gaze before he smothered it and gently shook his head. “You need rest as well, my dear.”

It seemed rude to tell someone to stop being stubborn and admit they were lonely, so Cody devised a secondary plan. If Obi-Wan would not accept the initial offer, well then Cody would gently force it on him. He nodded, and they made their way back to their tents, Obi-Wan bidding him a good night with a lingering look. He paused for a few moments in his tent before gathering his bedroll and sleep clothes and marching over to Obi-Wan’s tent to set his plan in motion.

“Sir, the rain has gotten into my tent. Would you be all right with sharing?”
