Getting a kick out of the dual meaning of Lilia getting Death as her destination card.

Of course there's the upfront aspect of it addressing Rio's true identity and Lilia's immediate fate.

But also the deeper meaning of the Death card being transformation and new beginnings applies too. While it was the end of the road for Lilia, the remaining three went through their transformations and Lilia facilitated it.

Desperate to write a Agatha All Along fic where Eddie's full name is Theodore Altman, and going by a wildly separated derivative, bc his family is in hiding bc the US government is currently hostile towards Skrulls. Which he is.

So he's a lot chill when his boyfriend reveals he can just hear thoughts and believed in magic.

Idk if thats where its headed, but the name is just so similar, I feel like I'm going insane.

Especially since Eddie also wears earrings and has peak golden retriever jock energy to match Billy's broody theater kid energy.

And we know that MCU has tweaked names before.

So in interviews, Schaeffer (I think, or at least some high level person on the show) said that Billy's boyfriend was meant to explicitly be Teddy Altman. But the larger Marvel project said that they couldn't have Teddy be here bc they have other plans for Hulkling rn. So they changed it to Eddie bc the name had significant meaning to the writers.

It's a sweet gesture but way too similar of a name. Everyone is confused now.

*squints*

Considering how much Marvel has bungled its grand schemes prior, I really hope they backtrack and trust Schaeffer's team on this.

It feels like a cop out to give Billy a sweet and supportive boyfriend only to ditch him later on. Also iffy optics to ditch the black love interest for a white one (unless their planned Teddy isn't gonna be white either).

going insane hearing talk about whether harris did enough to "earn" votes. no candidate has ever or can ever earn my vote because a vote is not a payment i send to a politician and it's stupid to think about it like it is. exact same thinking error that leads to people talking about not voting like it's a boycott. if anyone earned my vote it's the people i tried to use that vote to protect

you never owed kamala harris anything. you owed it to your fellow citizens of the world to vote for harris.

kamala harris is not even close to being the person who would have benefited most from her winning the election, and she's even farther from being the person who will be hurt the most by her loss, which makes thinking about it in terms of "but did she deserve my vote?" disastrously stupid. she simply is not the person whose deserving matters at all here

Exactly tbh

Me staring at the person with both parents, no financial struggle, no bombs around them, a nice car and has everything complain about how hard life it.

OR BETTER YET, COMPLAIN ABOUT TRUMP?? WHEN THEY LIVE IN AMERICA?? I promise you wholeheartedly, whatever he does in those 4 years will not make America come even a cm closer to being as bad as any other countries America has violated.

Nobody here is saying we have it worse than folks in other countries???

Of course, if you see someone say "This is as bad as Gaza" to their rights getting stripped away, then of course that's disengenous.

But perspective doesn't make Trump and his cabinet any less deserving of complaints. We aren't gonna get on our hands and knees to ask for sympathy from the Global South, but that doesn’t make frustrations any less valid.

Someone getting battered shouldn't stop making noise just because someone else got murdered in the next neighborhood.

I’m not saying to stop making noise. I’m saying I’ve had 3 anons saying “trump is gonna commit a genocide against Americans in the next 4 years”. Like excuse me?? You guys blow my head off when I take about what’s happening to my people and I point out the absurd number of deaths and call it a genocide, and the same people who fight me on it send anons saying trump is gonna commit a genocide in the US??

And people need to check their privilege, I get it people are sad Kamala didn’t win the elections (even though it’s completely her fault because she turned herself into a literal joke, Nobody has a problem with Kamala being a woman but she sexualized women worse than the men. She made fake promises that she knows she can’t live up to. She ran pro-Palestine ads in pro-Palestine states and pro-Israel ads in others.she made her election a concert instead of bringing female doctors and veterans etc… Kamala made her campaign a meme, she payed every single celebrity to convince you guys that she’s a good person and for women.) but that doesn’t change the fact that wether it’s trump or Kamala, people are still in the UNITED STATES. You are still some of the most privileged people on this planet and you have the nerve to come at me telling to not call what’s happening to my people a genocide and then in the same breath say trump is gonna commit a genocide in the United States?

This isn’t towards you specifically I hope that’s clear

... Okay yeah people coming to you to say Trump is gonna commit genocide to Americans is the height of disengenous. There's ignoring perspective and there's... that. Holy fuck.

Yeah that's full grounds to be pissed off.

Tell me why I shouldn’t be happy with trumps presidency again?

Assuming you don't give a damn what happens to us... I could explain what he's actually done as opposed to what he's promised his first term in the realm of foreign policy/environment and the precedent that makes.

I could also lay out the precedent he and his buddies have set towards Israel and Palestine.

But you know what? I hope you're right. I hope he proves me wrong. Hope is about all I can have now.

Still gonna save this for posterity.

The "if you voted for Trump unfollow me" posts are returning, but given then general makeup of your average tumblr user I think there's a different message I'd like to give.

If you didn't vote because "both parties are the same" or "it won't make a difference" or because Kamala wasn't the pure and perfect leader that you wanted or you "didn't want blood on your hands", honestly whether or not you follow me doesn't make a damned bit of difference. But I want you to look. Take a good look at the despair around you right now. And every godforsaken thing that follows I want you to fucking look. Look and know that you could have helped prevent it. We still haven't recovered from his last four years, the world hasn't fucking recovered, and now we're staring down the barrel of god knows how many more years and a river of fucking blood to come along with it.

But your pride and your principles were more important to you than the actual real fucking world we live in.

I hope, if nothing else, that you can take this in. I hope you learn. I hope you grow. I hope you find it in you to realize that in this country they soak our hands in blood the second we take our first breath and the only thing that matters then is what you fucking do with them. What you fight for. Who you fight for. Who you defend.

I hope you wake up. And you step up. And you fucking fight.

But until then. Don't you fucking dare look away.

The youngest of any voter would have been 14. If you weren't old enough to remember Charlottesville, the Muslim ban, or kids in cages, you were still old enough to remember the horrors of covid. Old enough to remember Trump wanting to send the military in to shoot protesters. Old enough to remember him pressuring American Jews to vote for him because his Israel credentials.

But you abstainers decided that those weren't deal breakers. At least the MAGAts own it.

And you know what, I could honestly respect it a little if you offer the most vulnerable concrete assurances that you'll protect them. That you prepared for this eventuality. That our fears our valid but you have a plan of action. And some probably do.

But the defensiveness of you keyboard warriors speak volumes.

And where everyone stands now determines later how much they earn the right to be horrified when the shit flies.

Novel Effects of "The Cast of Binding" on Compatible Martian-Terrestrial Pairs

Read on AO3 Pairing: Tom/Hephaestus Rating: Mature Word Count: 10,958 words Summary: Hephaestus, son of Crucibus, is an incredibly intelligent, magically proficient, system-renown rector—a generational scholar. And for some reason this goofy human keeps showing up in his dreams.

"I don't want to see anyone blaming abstaining voters for this!"

Of course you don't. The entire idea of abstaining was that you could pretend this didn't involve you. Not getting blamed was more important to you than doing any kind of damage control, more important than protecting any of the people you said you wanted to protect. And in this moment, I don't really care what you want. Of course, this isn't entirely your fault. Of course other people made this worse. But if you're going to pretend you had nothing to do with this, forgive me if I ignore you.

I worked the busiest early voting center in my city with record turnout. You know who had no problem coming out to vote? Trump supporters. Loud, proud, Trump supporters. They came out to vote by any means necessary. In wheelchairs, with walkers and canes and crutches, with help from friends and family and us. When there was an issue with the mail-in ballots this year they dragged their asses out to vote in person. They would not let anything stop them from voting.

So yeah, I have no sympathy for the people who COULD have easily voted with no barriers and CHOSE not to because while they certainly don't support Trump, they don't 100% agree with Kamala on every single thing. If this is you, you've lost your right to complain about anything he does. Because you chose not to do anything about it.

Yep. I said it before and I'll say it again: I respect out and proud Republican voters than abstainers (I also respect them more than the weasels who claim they don't like Trump but sneak their vote in for him as if no one will notice). They know what they want, and even if he doesn't check all the boxes, they will still reliably turn out

Abstainers tank the vote, and for what? You think you'll be listened to? You think Dems are gonna waste their energy courting you when you can't even be assured to turn out? Nope. They will focus their energy on those who did support them. Like Black women; many of whom have understandably now thrown in the towel.

Because if they can't count on y'all, why should y'all count on them?

If you're trans and you don't have a passport, get one. right now. not in a month, not in a week, get started on it today.

This is the one thing that I would definitely do regardless of state. For those not in the know, a passport is the way to get an easy name or gender marker change onto your ID without a court battle, and that is highly dependent on the Federal administration.

Passports don't accept any name, only the ones currently on your state identification. But I wouldn't be surprised if they start refusing to issue passports if it doesn't match the first name on an unaltered birth certificate (currently you need proof of citizenship, which for non-naturalized citizens means your birth certificate), rather than just requiring proof of name change. What's most important is being able to leave the country quickly if necessary. (If you can, you should cross national rather than state borders for an abortion, prosecuting you becomes significantly more difficult then). It will also provide you with photographic proof of citizenship that includes your current state legal name.

They will also currently put any sex marker on your passport, it doesn't have to match what's on your state ID. Which is useful, if me, you have an X on your state ID. I won't be surprised if they don't issue passports to people with an X on their state ID in the future, as well as not accept those passports for traveling.

A new passport does unfortunately cost $400.

Where are you getting that $400 fee?

At most, if you're getting one for the first time, the passport itself would cost $195 ($165 if it's a passport only and $65 if it's passport card only). And if you're renewing, subtract the $35.

Now if you're wanting to do fast turn-around through a third party or expedited service, yeah that has an added fee.

Also, if you can't afford a full-sized passport, a passport card is an option. And it has an added benefit of being able to be carried in a wallet. However if you need to leave the country, you will only be able to go to neighboring countries by land or water. If you want to fly away, you'll need a passport book.

Oh thank you for pointing that out. My memory just fucked up, because I was remembering when I legally change my name and initially planned to get a passport. The passport was the second most expensive thing after the name change itself, and I forgot how great the difference between the two was. So glad it doesn't.

No worries. That makes sense where those can get crossed.

Also, I will say that the application process can be pretty labyrinthine. And due to sometimes how shitty Google can be, what some folks may get as their result isn't the actual gov website but a third party.
