i loved awsten and parx so goddamn much, so deeply, when i got into them and fell into all the literal personality quirks and the sweetness and the band camraderie and how genuinely thrilled and grateful awsten seemed to have come as far as he had. now i have to watch him get on twitter and bitch and spit and rage that hes not getting the attention he “deserves” from his fans? as if we owe him anything!!!!! im not obligated to buy your music if it sucks. im not obligated to buy your overprices clothing if it sucks. i owe you nothing!!!

hmmm, its a possibility i guess? i think he HAS made a conscious decision to try and put a bit of distance between his personal life and personal emotions and the art he puts out for public consumption. like. the ciara cheating on him publicly thing broke him in a way i truly do not think he ever recovered from. and that was right off the heels of the otto betrayal with gr*ce, so….. its very clear to anyone who was aware of awsten at the time (because he shared every facet of his personal AND dating life online!!! so i understand why hes trying to be private about dating and stuff now bc they will inevitably implode after hes written songs about them lol

however, no, i cant imagine hed be embarrassed of the earnest, honest, true to his experience lyrics off the EPs. he used to harp OVER and OVER again how meaningless music was if it didnt come straight from your heart, your gut…. hed constantly rag on other bands who put our impersonal, cookie-cutter lyrics that didnt manage to say literally anything. i have to believe that artistic integrity is still in him somewhere

AS FOR THE CLOSET THING: this is viable actually lol. its no secret that songs off cluster and double dare are about how he felt when otto did what he did to him. maybe he feels he showed his hand a little too much because music was the only place he could get those feelings out (bc he sure as hell couldnt talk to otto about it lol) i dont think this is the driving reason he CLAIMS to hate the eps, but its a possibility for sure
