One of the several loose ends that Naruto SD revisits for Team Gai that the main series doesn’t (in addition to Tenten getting a rematch against Temari to prove herself and be acknowledged after her loss in the chunin exams, and Neji’s feelings about the Cloud Village after they cause the death of his father, Kakashi and Gai getting married, etc)…
When they’re older and come to understand Gai’s strictness and dotingness as signs of how much Gai truly cares for him, Team Gai has another group hug, this time with the students running to embrace Gai.

Gai: Neji! Neji: Sensei Gai: How are you feeling?? Neji: Fine. What about Naruto and the others? Gai: Everyone made it back to konoha, but sasuke got past naruto still. Neji: [exhale] No casualties then. Lee included. Gai: Thank goodness /you're/ ok, Neji. Proud of you. Lee and tenten: NEJI!!
Naruto Rewrite: Sakura headcannons
This is long over due, justice for my girl. You didn’t deserve this leave of disrespect
- Inner Sakura is a kekkei genkai, but I won’t her to learn this and not make it a clan thing. Inspired by her fight with Ino she does research about the whole “two souls”
- Sakura’s back story stays the same, but we get added info: her clan has superstrength and by training with tsunade she doubles it ten fold 
- Sakura’s father pushes her to be more lady like due to out date views
- When nine tails attack the village Sakura’s family never really financially recovered so she learned to make due with what she got
- inner Sakura is the “real” Sakura she’s to afraid to show (I really wish inner Sakura had her own style on how she dresses)
- Sakura believes her place in team 7 is more in the middle, but after the chunin exam she actually steps up to the plate
- Naruto is the brother she always wanted growing up
- Sasuke would always keep the flowers she picked for him, and when he leaves he takes them with him
- With Great chakra control: genjutsu should have been her thing, she had it first
- After she cuts her hair she loses that dress and pants combo, it’s iconic, but she need to shorten the dress or wear a prototype outfit she’ll wear in part 2
- Inner Sakura gets reserved for gags, inner thoughts, and for attack at enemies
- She trains with Ino and inspires Ino to learn how to control two people at the same time
- Sakura hangs out with Hinata and tells her Naruto has a crush on her
- Rock lee is a friend she leans on after Sasuke leaves so she can get stronger
- Sasuke writes her love letters which she finds in part 2 combined with the whole flowers
- Sakura managers to stab Sasuke in part 2 but he doesn’t try to kill her, bring old feelings back to the top
