Still loving the new Supergirl show. Here's a work in progress-- pencils for a creative watercolor commission, based by request on a pose from an early Trekker page.
Pencils from this week’s Trekker page. Which you might care to check out, although the present moment seems somewhat less that pleasant for The Kid...

Thought I'd share some of the pencil stage from this week's page, along side the same image in the finished color. From the beginning of the series, I've chosen to use a fairly bold ink line. I'm still happy with that approach for Trekker, but there are times when I'm aware of the subtle touches in the pencil stage that get lost in that bolder ink approach. Hopefully, some of that subtlety can be regained, if in an altered form, if I make good choices with color. That's the theory, anyway!
FYI-- I'll be posting a daily "On The Board" snapshot, such as this one at the Trekker Facebook page, for those interested in supervising my process and progress.
For you Work-In-Progress enthusiasts, here are a pair of sketches I am in the midst of from my "They Could Be Cousins" series wherein I select other formidable, gun-toting sci-fi ladies that are cut from a similar cloth to that of my own TREKKER, Mercy St. Clair. Here we have Zoe from Firefly and Ghost in the Shell's illustrious Major Motoko Kusanagi. Yeah, I reckon they could hang with Mercy.
More of all this--particularly the adventures of Mercy St. Clair-- at trekkercomic.com, for all your sci-fi bounty-huntin' needs.
Late weekend TREKKER shot: a sketch of Mercy. For no particular reason....
