me thinking about how out of sora and riku, riku would have been your Typical Protagonist™ for kingdom hearts 1 (moody, feeling trapped in his home town, desperate to become stronger) yet it was sora (openly emotional, compassionate, bubbly, driven primarily by love for his friends) who became the hero of the game and a big part of riku’s redemption arc was him learning to let go of his desire for power, listen to his heart and become more openly compassionate like sora
