The Afanc - A Welsh water creature that resided in Llyn-yr-Afanc (The Afanc Pool), when angered it would thrash about causing great floods along the banks of the river Conwy. Tired of the flooding, villagers came together and trapped the Afanc in iron chains before dragging it all the way to the summit of Yr Wyddfa and released it into the depths of Llyn Ffynnon Las (blue well lake) in the shadow of the peak where it couldn't escape.

The quiet Massachusetts town of Dover was the center of an unexplained phenomenon that began in the spring of 1977 and still fascinates paranormal enthusiasts and skeptics to this day. The entity, which came to be known as the “Dover Demon,” was seen over the course of two nights and left a path of unresolved speculation, sketches, and eyewitness accounts in its wake.
Wetzel's Riverside Monster
In 1958, two completely different Charles Wetzels saw two completely different creatures in two completely different locations. The two had never met, were not related to each other, and ironically both also had sons named Charles. On Saturday, November 8, 1958, one Charles Wetzel was near Riverside, California when he encountered a strange bipedal, reptilian like creature. He was driving on North Main Street and had arrived at the Santa Ana River which had over flowed its banks when his radio station suddenly went out. Changing stations didn't help. Then a six foot tall creature with scaly skin, no nose, no ears, florescent eyes, and a beak like mouth emerged and attacked Wetzel's car. Wetzel later described it as having a "round, scarecrowish head like something out of Halloween". It was further described as having scaley, leaf like skin, two long spindly arms, and its legs grew out of its side instead of from underneath its torso.
As it clawed at his windshield, he stomped on the gas, causing the creature to fall off the hood and under his car. Not caring about the monster, he blatantly ran over it. The creature scrapped against the bottom of the car...

The Sasquatch: A History of Much More Than Just Big Feet
The Sts’ailes people tell stories of a shapeshifting creature called sasq’et. This creature protects the forests, and the name also translates to hairy man. The name Sasquatch is an anglicized version of sasq’et.
In the folklore of the Sts’ailes people, seeing a sasq’et means that you are in the right place at the right time, and the creature is considered benevolent for the most part.
A nearby mountain called Sasq’ets Tel is said to be the place where the Sasquatch gathers…

This is the most famous photo of Champ, the Lake Champlain monster. It was taken in 1977 by Sandra Mansi who was out with her family on the lake. As her sons waded in the water and she and her fiancé looked after them, Sandra noticed what she thought was a school of fish about 150 yards from the shore. After a little bit “the head and neck broke the surface of the water” and when her fiancé quickly ushered her sons out of the water, she snapped the photo with her camera. Sandra estimates the creature surfaced for four to seven minutes as they watched it. The original photo has been looked at by several experts and they can find no evidence of tampering with the photo to fake it. As of now, this is the most solid evidence of a monster in Lake Champlain.
