Donation Match

Hi so I'm going to do this thing where I spotlight a particular fundraiser and do a small donation match (like $30 or something) and then when matched move onto another one. I'll be choosing from this spreadsheet created by @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi

I don't actually have a lot of followers so if the match thing doesn't work I'll just switch to donating and spotlighting lol.

I'll be starting with this fundraiser, "A father's call for peace for his children". I haven't contacted the organizer but it's number 143 on the above spreadsheet so I trust its veracity. I'll be matching up to €50 in donations, I'll start here with 10. If the match doesn't happen I'll just donate the full amount myself.

Abed – @abdelraouf – is isolated and trapped in northern Ghazzah.

Having been separated from his family, Abed's intense hardship is being compounded by his loneliness. Abed's wife and two young sons managed to evacuate to the south – however, they are now struggling to collect basic supplies to survive. Abed's family is suffering and they need urgent help.

Abed's GFM is currently at €175. We are aiming to support him with reaching the short-term goal of €3,000 as soon as possible.

How many times does one expect to die while he is alive !!

I am tired of waiting for death because it is the only way to end this nightmare and this genocide.

Yesterday we went to sleep as usual at nightfall but we did not know what was coming or expect the disaster that would happen to us, as we were bombed and targeted, me and my family directly without warning to evacuate and some of us were injured and we were lucky to stay alive other times 💔

We are now stuck in a very dangerous area and we do not know our fate and how to escape to safety because there is an Israeli sniper targeting everything that passes in front of him, and the smell of blood fills the roads because ambulances are unable to reach us.

So my family and I decided to stay where we are, perhaps it is the best option for us to stay alive.

This scene is not the first or the last.. It has been repeated for a year now..

I ask you to help me so that I can help my family in the northern Gaza Strip so that we can stay safe to support ourselves again.

i'm writing this post on behalf of Haya ( @familyrantise2003 ), who was displaced from her home along with her family in the genocide of Gaza. currently, Haya lives in Egypt with her mother and sister, but the rest of their family is still in Gaza. they have not been able to access basic humanitarian aid, let alone things like healthcare or education.

Haya is asking for help to secure a better future for her family, and to cover travel expenses so she can one day reunite with them. this campaign is extremely low in funds (recently, they went almost a full week with no donations at all!) and has been vetted by @bilal-salah0.

for the past few days it has rained where i am and weather was getting colder and colder and it finally snowed a little yesterday. and all i can think of is what people on Gaza must be going through. as you know everyone is living in a tent AT MOST and when it rains there's chances of flooding on top of the cold weather.

my friend is a 20 year old trans femme currently living in an abusive situation with her parents, who if they find out she is trans, will either escalate the abuse severely or kick her out without warning.

we have found her a flatshare, but she needs help getting first months rent & deposit as the council is refusing to help her. we are looking into a few charities as well, but their processing times are often quite long and she needs to be out by end of November.

i know this is a bad time and that everyone is skint, but please, help her access some stable housing.

we are currently looking to raise £1000 to cover part of the rent and deposit by the 28th November which gives a very tight deadline

answering a couple questions i got on this post since i realized ppl genuinely wanna know:

tl;dr:

the post linked above has examples of how donating to individual families can help a lot. if you want to help more than one family at a time, there are many gazan-led initiatives focusing on rebuilding their infrastructure and distributing aid fairly that are worth donating to instead of large charities that already get the majority of donations.

as i mentioned in the last post: @/careforgaza on twitter is a nonprofit started by gazans, it's been endorsed by multiple palestinian journalists.

the sameer project is a collective organized by diaspora palestinians offering emergency shelter to gazans.

ele elna elak is a project aiming to bring water, food, shelter, etc. to gazans and has been promoted by bisan owda.

and the municipality of gaza itself is fundraising to rebuild water infrastructure.

all of these organizations are active inside gaza right now and are being run by gazans. if anyone knows of other gazan-led mutual aid projects, nonprofits or charities feel free to link them in the notes! hope this helped!
