Made some of the glitter chai I got at David’s tea this weekend 🥰☕️✨
Japanese tea bag maker Ocean-Teabag has been making waves by creating little parcels of aroma in the shape of marine animals. Luckily for us, their wide range of tea bags are available at online Japanese novelty retailer Village Vanguard, maker of such fine products as Space Tea and cat-shaped kitchen utensils.
Ocean-Teabag’s earliest designs included beautiful dolphin tea bags filled with blue mallow tea leaves. Steeping them turns your otherwise normal pot of water into a tranquil ocean. Proving to be a hit among tea lovers, Ocean-Teabag expanded their repertoire to many other sea creatures including the sea turtle (butterfly pea jasmine tea)…
the distinctive ocean sunfish (Japanese hojicha — roasted green tea)…
the graceful manta ray (tropical mango tea)…
and even a blood-thirsty shark (blended herb tea).
The newest addition to their robust series of marine creatures is a tea bag shaped like an innocuous sea cucumber. This little parcel is filled with jasmine tea, as well as a smidgen of sea cucumber powder to lend some authenticity. Ocean-Teabag warns that some people who have a sensitive tongue may find it tasting a little fishy.
The company also crafted a deep sea series that will satisfy even the most adventurous of tea drinkers out there. A few such examples are the anglerfish (earl grey tea)…
the creepy giant isopod (Eastern Beauty oolong tea)…
the horseshoe crab (white apricot tea)…
…and lastly the king of them all, the enormous giant oarfish. ( Delicious Assam tea of epic proportions! ) Just like its namesake, it measures a whopping 19 centimeters (7.5 inches). Drinking tea becomes an art when half of your tea bag hangs out of your cup.
While the notion of turning your cup of tea into fish-inhabiting waters is not new, these tea bags will hopefully conjure up images of gentle ocean waves in your mind.
where has this been all my life??
this is how you get tea to not be bitter. I didn’t like green tea until I learned not to brew it with boiling water.
my brother is obsessed with tea and gets really mad and lectures you if you dont brew it right … yikes
I had no idea.
straight people watching brokeback mountain and going “heehee gay cowboys! so funny!” is literally evil. it’s a movie about how gay men are terrified to be together and a lot of them end up in unhappy and unfulfilling het marriages. a lot of gay men back in the day were cowboys with the express purpose of living their fucking lives. gay cowboys existed everywhere because being out there in the middle of fuck knows where surrounded my other men (often times their partners) and farm animals was better than being publicly out and murdered, especially if you were a man of color, since they pioneered cowboy culture.
In other news I treated myself to some really fucking expensive tea from this website because despite my efforts to stretch my supply of my favorites, like a year or two after my last order I’m almost out of some of them and they had a clearance sale on their holiday stuff and I BOUGHT TWO SAMPLER SETS LMFAO. (and they sent me 2 free samples! idk if they changed their policy or what- I thought I was supposed to get 3 samples but hey whatever... not gonna bitch about not getting the third one, they’re FREE SAMPLES, so I’m happy I get any at all.) THEY CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY AND IM JUST SO EXCITED MAN. I couldn’t pick which one to try first so I just picked a random number out of the 10 decaf ones so I have, and it was Apple Cider. It’s not really my..... cup of tea ( >:3c ) but I like it enough and definitely will drink the rest. It’s GREAT TEA, just not a flavor I’d pick. I was a little worried that the samplers wouldn’t be worth it because each tin looked like it might only make one cup but I think I can get 2-3 more generous cups out of this little guy! If I stretch it I might be able to get 5 cups out of each tin which is absolutely worth my money. Some of the tins are like, mostly large fruit pieces so I guess those may only make 1 or 2 cups but I’m not big on fruit-as-the-main-ingredient teas anyway so that’s fine.
This stupid tea place is like, the tea equivalent of what Lush and their bath products are to me- really fucking expensive and when I get some from this place I stretch it way past its best by date but its actually really good shit so it’s worth spending the extra money ;w;
And it’s so nice for this extra cold extra snowy december night!
If any of you are curious about this tea company- my all-time-favorite (that they still sell :’C I MISS YOU COCOMINT CREAM!! ;C; ) is Alpine Punch. The flavor is pretty indescribable but it’s amazing and perfect for winter.

Vulcan Spice Tea
Although this spice tea is clearly enjoyed by Tuvok and Captain Janeway (VOY: Alliances), I would also like to think that it is a common drink on all of Vulcan, because it is refreshing, spicy and logical all at the same time. I am a little suprised to see Janeway drink anything other than coffee, but can understand why a coffee drinker would enjoy the strong flavours of this tea.
While I have listed quantities of spices below, the recipe is very flexible - if you want more of any spices, feel free to add it! Remember to steep your spices for a few minutes to allow the flavours to develop. It is a bit difficult to only make the amount of spice needed for a single cup, so I suggest you make the quantities below and store the mix in a jar - pre-made spice tea, whenever you want it! The recipe below does have quite a spicy finish - if you want to lower that a little, use less peppercorns and ground ginger.
Replicate your own (Makes about ¼ cup of the spice mixture)
This is what the tea that was dumped into the Boston Harbor would have looked like. In the 1700s, tea was compressed into planks; a plank this size could last a person roughly a year. They would be bought in sections, and small slivers would be shaved off into the kettle every time somebody wanted to make a cup of tea.

what the fuck that’s so neat
This also puts a lot into perspective. Like a crate of tea leaves vs a crate of CONDENSED TEA PLANKS being tossed into the harbor?? How many years worth of tea did we chuck overboard??
An amendment to that good day post, I have color changing straws!!!!
man- tazo’s passion tea is so fucking good for hot weather. I got this a while ago and didn’t like it cuz I made it hot but since its like 48923 degrees I’ve been havin all my tea iced and it’s AWESOME as iced tea?
rageagainstthechristine depop is an app I see a lot of people using (also tell me more about this tea)
ooh ok i’ll check it out!
also- the tea... I have so fucking much tea... I was thinking a person could donate 5 dollars to me and I’d send them 5 tea samples of their choosing from... all of this:
I’ll probably make a post with better pictures and guidelines for donations and sampler selection but for now to answer your inquiry, that’s all of what I have in my hoard. I just laid one of each of the prepackaged teas out for ease of photo taking, but I have a bunch of each. There are also two tins of different chai I didn’t take a picture of cuz I bought them a while ago and they have the fucking G slur on them and I was ignorant and didn’t understand why that was bad at the time. Those are fair game though too if you feel like vanilla chai or coconut chai sounds like something you’d like and you wanna help me get rid of them. I need to get those gone and out of my life, but I don’t just wanna waste them by throwin’ em out ya feel me? I’d drink it all myself but like, as you can see, I have sO DAMN MUCH CHAI. I went through a huge chai kick for a while and couldn’t find the right blend for me, and just... it got out of control.
Probably when i make the post I will add quantities, like I’m not gonna put all of my FEDERATION-ISSUE EARL GREY TEA up for grabs because a friend got me that and it’s THE BEST SHIT and I am selfish and I want it X”D though I wouldn’t mind sending a few teaspoons of it out to people. The cocomint cream is off limits because davidstea doesn’t make it anymore and I cry because it’s amazing and I love it ;; Obvs I have a fucking half gallon bag of thai tea sitting around so you’re all super welcome to that X”D
