okay fine. here’s some evidence, which isn’t even all of it. you decide.

The Wrath of Khan

  • Spock literally dies to save the ship

The Search for Spock

  • Jim literally sacrifices EVERYTHING for Spock–everything he loves. his ship, his career, his son, his friends, his own life

The Enemy Within

  • Spock quietly reminds good!Jim when he needs to be more aggressive, and instead of the security team trying to find evil!Jim, he goes alone with good!Jim to protect his position as captain. when the Jims use the transporter and rematerialize as one, he looks visibly relieved.

Shore Leave

  • Spock tricks Jim into taking shore leave because he needs it. we also learn that he canonically gives him back rubs B)

The Devil in the Dark

  • Jim tries to assign Spock to helping Scotty, so he’s spared hunting the Horta (which was proven to kill in a horrible way). Spock sasses Jim in response. Can you imagine?? Spock questioning orders like that? Then, after insisting no one kill the Horta, Spock is like “CAPTAIN KILL IT. QUICKLY” when Jim says he’s staring right at it. This is ridiculous.

The City on the Edge of Forever

  • they shared a frickin twin bed because Spock’s big chain of circuit boards takes up one whole one. Jim went out of his way to buy what Spock needs to eat. it’s domestic as hell??? Jim forgets his spoon at the Mission and Spock brings one for him. Spock is clearly troubled that Edith is the key, because he knows that her death will wreck him. if you read the ending scene that was supposed to be there, he invites Jim to take a vacation with him on Vulcan, bye

Operation: Annihilate

  • Spock comforts Jim after they find Sam dead. when Spock gets injured, Jim is ridiculously worried to the point that McCoy has to remind him that more people are suffering. determined to find the cure, Jim pushes everyone to work hard af and when he finds Spock was needlessly blinded, you can see the hurt in his eyes.

Amok Time

  • Jim risks his entire career (let that sink in) to save Spock’s life. he accepts the challenge because he thinks Spock can’t defeat Stonn.

Mirror Mirror

  • it’s the literal mirrorverse, so mirror!Spock should have killed Jim. he was ordered to do so by starfleet command, but instead, he tries every avenue to avoid harming him.

Journey to Babel

  • Jim was stabbed and badly injured…and yet he faked that he was fine so Spock would agree to save Sarek’s life, like ???

The Ultimate Computer

  • “Practical, Captain? Perhaps. But not desirable. Computers makeexcellent and efficient servants, but I have no wish to serve underthem. Captain the starship also runs on loyalty to one man, and nothingcan replace it, or him.”

The Paradise Syndrome

  • Spock literally DOES NOT SLEEP OR EAT because he’s trying so hard to crack the obelisk puzzle, the key to saving Jim.

And the Children Shall Lead

  • Jim is having a meltdown, so Spock pulls him into the privacy of the lift to reassure him. #RIP

The Tholian Web

  • Spock and McCoy take great risks to bring Jim back. Immense pining occurs in the meantime.

The Empath

  • Spock nerve pinches Jim so he won’t sacrifice himself. McCoy hypos Spock so he won’t either. i hate them all.

  • Spock melds with Jim and then holds his hand. he massages his neck when they’re in the brig as the transposition with Janice Lester temporarily takes place.
