I love comparing whelks and moon snails because they’re both predatory sea snails that occupy basically the same habitat and eat the same kinds of prey but they look so wildly different. They’re opposite ends of a sliding scale but I don’t know what that scale is. Amount of slop per mollusk? Perhaps.
