@taggerbug submitted: Found another bold jumping spider. This one was living in a snail shell! :)
What a great home for them! And absolutely fantastic photos of a very photogenic spider. 10/10 metallic chelicerae. I love him :)
Webbed is a wonderful web-slinging arachnid platforming adventure starring a ridiculously cute little spider.
Muffin looks like he’s full of love-he’s so cute!!
BIG AGREE
also i was wrong about him blocking himself off he has decided to come back out and be sillay again
you love to see it FJDFJJJD
this is my friend jolene! she’s a bold jumping spider (Phidippus audax) and she lives in the fence where I work. I get to hang out with her for hours every shift! she’s shy but sometimes she comes out to look at me. one time I saw her catch a green immigrant leaf weevil!! ferocious.
the cutest things she does are when she cleans her fancy fangs with her lil fuzzy things (pedipalps?), and when she tucks herself into her sleeping bag and closes the door. she’s adorable and I love her so much.
I think she laid her eggs since I took these, since her abdomen is considerably smaller now!
look at this very legit, highly authentic ant I found
this is definitely an ant and not a jumping spider in the genus Peckhamia. Look at him do perfectly ordinary ant things
It’s such a good mimic that it’s hard for me to see the spider even knowing it’s a spider, however, you can tell it uses the “antennae” to walk with because they’re the front legs!!
Baby time
White Jawed Jumping Spider. During the photo-shoot it jumped from my car to my camera lens. Took me a while to find it. Luckily I checked my lens for debris before putting the cap on. I’m in Michigan.
What a cute lil man! Trying to hitch a ride on your camera. This species is sexually dimorphic and this is a male. Want to see the lady? Yes of course you do:
Tubby…….I love her. Photo by mlankford
Found this cute little jumper on my patio door! Anyone know what type of jumping spider it is? I’m in Quebec, Canada.
Sure, it’s an Asiatic wall jumping spider. Let’s look at a clearer photo so we can admire just how dang cute they are:
Omg!!!! They are just too much. Photo by wildcarrot
Thanks for sharing!
Look at that tiny wave
baby!
This little dude lived happily on our window for some time, too shy to eat the crickets I offered it.
Unfortunately i found it dead one morning, presumably killed by one of our cats. :’( Idk why, but I always feel extra sad when it’s a jumping spider. They just look so innocent
Aww they are indeed precious babes and it’s sad to see them go. I imagine it didn’t eat the crickets since it had already found and eaten a meal on its own! Okay this is sad but also the tiny coffin absolutely delighted me. Hope it had a good spider life and may it rest in spider peace. Thank you for sharing! As always, submissions don’t count towards the one (1) nice bug per day.
i’ve had a few messages about this particular spider so here’s some info on it!
these spiders belong to the genus neobrettus. they are cryptic jumping spiders, usually mottled brown or grey, that rely on stealth to navigate tree trunks in the rainforests and neighbouring gardens of malaysia, bhutan and vietnam. despite being jumping spiders, these guys don’t actually jump. instead they move smoothly and quickly from one position to another. their unique fuzzy appearance is likely to be an attempt at mimicry of an unsavoury caterpillar. not much else is known about them as they are very difficult to spot.
jet's new enclosure! people often ask for pictures of my setups and I think this is a pretty solid example - places to hide, opportunities to climb and jump and different textures to interact with ♡
Huevemeber 2019 - Day 11
Woo! Took me 2 days to finish this girl up, and it’s finally done!

[ID: A realistic digital drawing using the jumping spider linked in the post as reference, but modified to be a mixture of pink and magenta instead of the tan and orange on the referenced spider. The spider seems to be looking at the viewer. The face has shiny black eyes, the four largest have a slight reflection in them. The mouth area is a furry light pink, as are the pedipalps. The legs are black, with little pink hairs on them. The ends of the legs that are visible are a gradient from black to magenta. The pattern on the spider’s abdomen a few, swirly dot-like shapes. In the center of the abdomen, and just slightly cut off from view, there is a pink heart. In the top left corner is the artist’s watermark, a logo depicting a jumping spider silhouette with a heart on its abdomen. End ID.]
