the weirdest thing capitalism has done is produced this mindset where someone else's job being made easier/better is a personal attack on you. look at people who oppose letting cashiers sit while working. WHY? why the fuck do you care?? they're still doing the job???? and not to mention the minimum wage. ask yourself why you Personally are mad a stranger gets paid $2 more than usual. it makes no sense

#like im constantly surprised at how often i have to remind myself this stuff#like i consider myself to be extremely pro worker's rights and worker power#but like#even i sometimes find myself getting mad when one of my coworkers calls out last minute#like it aint the fact that we dont have enough employees to take the strain off thats causing me the stress#i have to remind myself every time not to get mad at them personally#capitalism literally does that- it makes the workers get mad at each other for like- having lives and emergencies#bc none of us fuckin know what its like to work somewhere fully staffed#and not feel like we are gonna die when ONE (1) PERSON IS MISSING#capitalism
