St. Thomas Aquinas (via thatonecatholic)
O my Jesus! I detest all those wicked pleasures which have cost Thee so much pain. Oh, how many years ought I not already to have been in the flames of hell! And why hast Thou so patiently awaited me until now? Thou hast borne with me, in order that at length, overcome by so many wiles of love, I...

Act of Desire
O Jesus surpassingly sweet, who hast said with Thine own gracious lips that Thy delights are to be with the children of men, my soul longeth for Thee, my heart yearneth now towards Thee. Wherefore I invite Thee to come unto me with all that devotion and that love wherewith any loving soul hath ever invited Thee to itself. Come, then, O most beloved Spouse of my soul; come O most beloved and only Love of my soul; come and turn aside while into the poor and wretched hovel of my heart.
O Thou, my only Love, I long for Thy coming with most eager desire, I await Thy coming with yearning love. O Thou fairest of the sons of men, O spring of inexhaustible sweetness, O Thou sweeter than all sweetest delights, come, oh, come unto me, and disdain not Thy poor and needy servant. Amen.

God at Eventide: October 9th: Overcome Desire
The listening ear —
Train the listening ear to hear Me.
The first step is to subdue earth’s desires and to want only My Will.
Desire as a control must be overcome.
Then follows the turning within to speak with Me.
Then the listening ear.
God at Eventide: October 1 - Have Confidence
Nothing happens to you that is not the answer to your prayers, the fulfillment of your desire to do, and have, in all, My Will.
So go forward into each day unafraid.

God at Eventide: September 9 - Thy Heart's Desires
Pause upon the threshold of My House of plenty.
Pause in awe and in the joy of Worship.
He shall give thee thine heart’s desires. Give your desires themselves, conceived as they are in union with the Divine Spirit, and receive their fulfillment.
Know this and let your heart sing with the joy of this Wonder of Supply.
