remember when gwen stood up for the women of ealdor saying they can fight just as good as any man? arthur is a gentleman, of course he wanted to protect the women and children and would have refused the women to fight and had gwen not spoken up, they probably wouldn't have (apart from morgana and gwen). gwen challenged the prince of camelot and made him re-think.

remember all the times gwen guided and advised arthur in royal matters? remember how uther always got into arthur's head to the point he had no idea right from wrong and who he was? remember how gwen set him straight, reminded him to follow his heart and that he is a good man.

remember how merlin spoke to gwen about uther - knowing morgana was going to kill him - and asking gwen what she would do. she told him she would never kill him as she would become the same level as uther. remember how that made merlin re-think his morals and evidently went to save uther.

how about when morgana took over camelot for the first time and gwen fooled her into believing she was on morgana's side. if she hadn't fooled morgana and betrayed her, she wouldn't have escaped and found arthur and the knights and help retake camelot.

or how about - in arthur's absence - gwen stood up to agravaine, spoke 'out of turn' and fought for the people's rights.

how she felt hurt that agravaine poisoned arthur's mind but instead helped him see the damage he was causing and how it was affecting arthur.

gwen's cunningness in trying to capture sefa's father, remember that?

without gwen the show would quite literally be nothing.
