easing back into comics and while i won't show you the thumbnail for the whole thing i WILL promise you. there are some powerful gloria faces in this
it's noirvember! i've been starting a lot of posts with that recently, turns out a month is one month long. in the spirit of earth-shattering information, if you've got any questions (getting into the genre, reading/writing it, stuff about dead man talking etc etc) i'm all ears
Suuuper curious about Gloria’s SPECIAL stats + main perks
sure thing!
i've found various bobbleheads around, so that INT should be at 9. and her most pertinent perks: science!, scrapper, unstoppable. she's smart, she's crafty, and she takes a lot of punishment. and close to metal, of course
bonus picture!
the forbidden gloria
i've been wanting to poke around at the frost mod, set in the nuclear winter after the bombs, especially since it's fallout 4's birthday (or was) and was cooking up a little character and struggling for ideas, and it hit me
Judith!
nick and gloria are banned from participating in poker games at the dugout because gloria has a really, really good grip of poker math and is a sore winner, and because during a game nick unplugged the nerves of his face and slapped them down on the table and it freaked people the hell out, and any game with the both of them is a total shitshow because they want to beat other people but they really want to beat each other
this is such a recurring element of their relationship that even when gloria is on the verge of dying in a hospital bed from radiation poisoning and they're playing chess to pass the time nick is like this is the worst possible thing that could ever happen and would shatter me forever. however i do need to lock the fuck in

nick has a pretty strong no-gambling policy because he's acutely aware his tumultuous personal life and many many demons prime him to be the kind of guy who'd lose a lot more than just money to games of chance, up until gloria sits down at the table, at which point the urge to best her competitively wins out and he starts throwing caps down as fast as he's able

I tell every client the same thing because one day it might stick. Withholding information from the bull you hired is like tapping your neurosurgeon on the shoulder and handing him a sledgehammer. Sure, the job will get done. But now we've got a hot mess on our hands.

after i fuss around in blender some, enough to where i'm at least reasonably confident in it, i'm looking forward to getting back to work on my own comic, specifically the one where nick reconciles murdering eddie winter in cold blood against his principles. it'll be good for me i think
oh fun dead woman walking fact for the rereads
it always makes my day when i see people interacting with dead man talking, dead woman walking, or the comics, and getting it. like really clicking with it and the point i'm making. it's so gratifying. it's a niche within a niche within a niche, so i put both out there with the expectation that it wouldn't be read at all and that'd be fine, it's for me, but it's still really satisfying to see people understand that despite the horrific way it ends, it doesn't make the funny or sweet things in it obsolete, it just makes them more meaningful when they do happen. it's just the curse of being alive. you can go out in a bad way, or a good way, but you're still going out, and there isn't a thing in the world that can change that. so if over the past couple of years you've taken the time to reach out about it, thank you, i read and appreciate all of them
gloria: navigating an obscenely complex military computer from memory after successfully posing as an institute scientist after a two week crash course
nick:
something i don't regret necessarily but wished i had known about and could include in dead man talking was project a1119.
i know in the fallout universe a nasa equivalent puts a man on the moon but know for sure, for SURE, that in my specific take on it for dmt they nuke it also. i can't not put that in there
