I’m all for loving your body and stuff but please do not say “thin privilege” is a thing because it isn’t. ~privilege~ is based on something you cannot change pls don’t be that person

Since weight is highly-correlated with both ethnicity and socio-economic status, I think…

I’d like to add my input:

-The body image that is highly regarded today and made up in the minds of wealthy men isn’t possible. No one can achieve this image.

-Being thin doesn’t indicate class necessarily, but it can. What IS VERY WRONG is insinuating that being overweight is disgusting. It injects so much fear into women everywhere. We are all affected by the pressure to be “perfect”. Being overweight is in no way disgusting. Someone being overweight shouldn’t offend these classist shits.

-If you’re thin and going around saying fat people can help it, fat people should lose weight, you can afford healthy food, etc., then that is merely the result of class privilege not of thin privilege and they should feel ashamed of themselves and called out for it.

-Those who have suffered under some kind of eating disorder know that thin isn’t a privilege. At one point, we wanted to be thin so terribly that we risked our lives for it. There wasn’t a stopping point. Anorexia and bulimia doesn’t cease after the woman decides that she’s at her preferred weight. She feels as if she isn’t thin enough regardless of what weight she is at. Even if you don’t have anorexia/bulimia, I know every woman has felt at one point in her life she wasn’t thin enough.

-I also know every woman has probably have had someone make comments about her weight. I get them all the time being underweight and it hurts. I don’t like it when I hear my sister and friends speak horribly about their bodies. I cringe and feel anger towards the system.

-I don’t like it when I hear women try to justify their insecurities by making other women feel terrible about their bodies. It’s internalized misogyny. I would like to castrate men who make women feel as if their bodies are trash.

-Body image issues affect all of women. So no one really has a privilege. We’re all meant to feel like shit under corporate rule.

Today I was thin privileged because I went walking like four miles total and I got catcalled a bunch of times. But because no one was telling me I was a whale, just that I should get on their dicks, I’m super privileged!

Ugh, i remember that thisisthinprivilege where they said only thin people get called out to by guys or something and that was thin privilege - no that’s rape culture, and if you are jealous of thin people when a guy slows down to check them out and then wolf whistles at them, then you’re crazy, it’s actually so scary when it happens and is not flattering in any way shape or form.

I just was recently in a mental crisis center due to depression. About 2 days before being discharged the nurse there took my vitals and of course weighed me. Now, I am 5’ 2.5” and weigh 190lbs. After inputting the information in the computer she told me that I was considered “morbidly obese” with...

I'm sorry, but this is not 'thin privilege', this is not being able to accept that your weight is unhealthy. "Obese" when used by medical professionals is not a personal attack on you, it is a term used to communicate a condition.
