This is a completely serious question, but can straight girls be radical feminist? I have only recently started reading radical feminist blogs and I now feel very critical of the mainstream liberal feminist movement. However, I’m a heterosexual WOC who only wants to learn more about rad feminism and do her part in supporting it.
Hey girl! I thought I was a heterosexual WOC supporting radical feminism, but since I really got into the movement and learned about unlearning my internalized misogyny, I have grown so much as a person and discovered that I have been bisexual but repressed my feelings after growing up in a middle eastern country that operates under shariah law! Learning about radical feminism is for everyone, and as a woman who has her autonomy and rights under attack simply for being born a woman, you have a place here too!
Some friendly advice, when it comes to issues regarding sexuality, if you are 100% sure you are straight, be a little cautious with how you engage. Do not let people walk over you, but be aware of how being raised straight may impact your worldview and how you deal with certain conversations or issues, so just be mindful of the radfems that have been here for a long long time when they talk about their sexuality or oppression. That being said, do your own research from many avenues. Do not decide that someone is right because they have a lot of support, form your own opinions, and do your own reading. Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions. Here are some resources to help!
