The first documented diagnosis of CRPS was in the 16th century
And we still live in a world where barely any doctors know what it is or how to treat it...

CRPS awareness month
November is (among other things) CRPS awareness month.
CRPS - or Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is a chronic pain syndrome which can affect individual limbs to the whole body. It is poorly understood currently by medical science, and there is currently no cure.
As someone who has suffered with CRPS - I want to raise awareness for this condition.
So, for the next four weeks I will be posting once a week some tips/advice that I have learnt over the last three years living with this condition.
I am also hoping to release a journal/pain tracker for people with CRPS (currently only available in the UK). Keep an eye on the blog for the release day post!
This tracker/journal is designed to help you create your own guidebook to your CRPS. Part traditional pain tracker (e.g. Mon 1st pain was 7/10), this book also contains a journal section. Here you are given different tips and suggestions to help you better manage living with your condition, and given space to then write down your own experiences.
This makes the journal unique to you, and your condition. Because while CRPS is a set medical condition, it can affect people differently depending on where it is in the body.
"You're always so chipper and excited even though you're in pain, I could never."
Bethany, if I wasn't chipper and excited about the most mundane things like bees and dice, then I would literally be bedrotting all day every day, sobbing because my entire life is falling apart because I have no answers or relief to pain that doctors think is fake. So I will take joy in my trinkets and rollerskating while my body allows because one day I won't be able to.
good morning! have a jester pinup to brighten your day!
Happy CRPS awareness day by the way!!!
I don't talk about my disability on here because, I don't know, this is the nerdy fandom place, but I've been living with CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) for 6 years now, and it's massively impacted my life. I'm a wheelchair user, have been for years now, and I'm only just finding my place in the world of acting again (I know, I have dreams, even I'm shocked)
Jokes aside though, the condition isn't very well known, and it's something I don't talk about much because I feel like I still need to hide it sometimes, but today is paint it orange day, so cheers to that 🤎

things i'll never finish
drawings i've abandoned over the past 2 years or so, whether i got stuck at a certain point or ended up not liking the composition anymore when i hit the 80% complete mark, little ideas from them will probably end up cannibalised and appearing in future art. i have posted these in full to patreon before over the years as wips but i just know i'll never go back to them because i'm not happy with how they were progressing. rip to these pieces.
