how do you feel about Bernard both in his original appearnace and UL onward?
bernard is just a character that can’t exist on his own. he’s very much a background character so it was pretty annoying to see him in every single issue of td:robin and add nothing to the story. in the original series he actually was in the background so i cant say i liked or disliked him. he was just there ig. either way the first thing that comes to mind when i think of him is boring. meghan had the opportunity to give him a story arc/add something to his personality(which he lacks lol) or just develope him a little bit further but she didn’t. not a good fit for a superhero love interest imo

he just was out of character majority of the time. painting tim as nothing more than quirky coffee addict that’s overly emotional and a nerd is what fanon does. how come the smartest robin got his id discovered by a random guy? why did the smartest robin need help from batwoman when he got lost in a maze? most of the things he did (or that happened to him) did not match his character at all. why did he just left sparrow when she was wounded? why did he left ppl in a fire? why did he want to sacrifice himself to some cult instead of just beating them up💀 and he’s not the only one who suffered the fitzmartin character assassination because why would batman bring civilians to help him rescue tim? i remember having plenty more examples but id require me to read this excuse of a comic book again to list them all so i’ll just leave it at that.
most of the issues he faced in this run he already had to dealt with in his 93 run so its easy to compare the two and see how he handled them in both

im just glad it’s over. it felt like fitzmartin havent read anything tim related and just learned his character from tumblr. im still amazed how she managed to make the smartest robin stupid. can’t really judge her characterization of steph nor their relationship with tim since she was barely in the run which i think was for the best. one of the cringest writing ever(and the pacing was so dumb and annoying omg)

I hate... fanon archetypes. You know how people sand down their blorbos to fit into the same handful of incorrect quote templates and then they forget their actual canon personalities because they've gone too long without engaging with the source material? I hate it. I hate it. He would not fucking say that. The joke was slightly funny when it was on the office or whatever but we've all heard it over and over with different characters pasted into it how are you still laughing please let me out
The funny character has no other personality traits. Also he's incompetent now. The one who's kind of prickly is just weirdly mean OR sad and did nothing wrong, take your pick. Gotta have the Sunshine Boy. Woman 1 is yass slay badass. Woman 2 is the rest of the cast's Mother. If there's only one woman, she can be both. Do you want to kill yourself yet
