Since some folks were giving the "you can donate hair!?" response with some enthusiasm to want to heres a donation place suggestion. Locks of love take donations to make wigs for children with Alcopecia, Cancer, Ectodermal dysplasia, Loose anagen syndrome, and more. The wigs are either given away or set on a sliding scale depending on the financial need. What's really neat is their wigs have a vacuum seal to them so if they have jerky classmates, they can't just be pulled off. The kids can also swim, play, run, and jump around without fear of it falling off too.
Also up at the top if you know a kid that could use one for any of the above reasons (or the remainder listed on their site) you can either apply or nominate a child to get a wig too.
CONDITIONS FOR DONATION
Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable
Bleached hair ( or colored hair that needed to be bleached first) is a no no since there's a chemical reaction during processing. If you bleached it ages ago but it's since grown out then it's ok though
The hair must be in a ponytail or braid
Hair must be at least 10 inches in length (curly hair is accepted o long as it reaches 10 when pulled out straight)
Layered hair is acceptable so long as it still meets 10 inches and is parceled out into ponytails
