Oooh I really like the idea of Lilly and Quill hanging out and sharing drinks. They would have wild stories to share I'm certain of it!

<.<

>.>

If I can ever convince myself to draw daily for practice to get better at it, I will eventually draw them. That's like the biggest IF though.

For now take this picrew of Lilly and Quill telling each other exciting stories. (*^▽^)/★*☆♪

Avatar

Awww \o/

And that's really my favorite thing lately, is just imagining OCs sitting down and sharing a drink and breaking some bread.

And it doesn't have to be these big heavy conversations, but there's definitely some camaraderie to be had.

Avatar

It's definitely wild for Lilly, as she is not always female. So in instances she is aware that it happened she usually ends up in stages of grief and depression first as she worries about those she left behind.

Being in a male body is different obviously, but she kind of likes it which often makes her question her gender.

Avatar

I feel like Lilly and Quill would have plenty to talk about while bonding over drinks, that's for sure.

And yeah, I don't think Quill's sense of gender was super set even before they started living other lives, so by the time they reach One Piece they're really just unconcerned completely XD

I’m really trying to picture Quill’s Dynamic with Sel, (just an fyi her full name has been changed to “Selbeana”, I showed a drawing of her to a family member and they mispronounced her name “Selbeana” and to be honest it has a bit of a ring to it so I’ll keep it ☺️).

So yeah, it’s tricky because Sel has always had a hard time making friends, and she’s got a few walls put up. but I feel like she have one of those odd encounters where Sel just stumbles upon Quill while she’s carrying an animal carcass back home, at some island they both docked at, and Sel had NO idea what to say all she can say is “There’s Poison Oak back there so please just be careful” 😅

To provide more context Sel was REALLY socially awkward as a child and teenager and due to some Traumatic experiences between ages 15-19 it got progressively worse.

There is a reason behind this in her backstory but I’m still working on that right now because it’s all over the place at the moment 😅. Hopefully I can share soon

-🌕

The good news is that Quill is really good at making friends. It's a trait my mom has that I decided to give them - never met a stranger. Just pulls everyone right into orbit with them and does their level best to make them feel comfortable.

>.>

<.<

Admittedly though I think Quill would ask Sel to point out what the poison oak looks like - you travel through so many worlds and you learn it does not always have the same leaf structure 😅

So with Quill’s ability to reincarnate, was this a result of a devil fruit power or are they apart of a particular race that is able to have that ability, to live many lifetimes. Like a species Big Mom would

Be fascinated with?

-🌕

Oh Big Mom would definitely be fascinated with Quill.

So would anyone who found out they new the entire fate of the One Piece world, but Quill’s reincarnation is more of a curse.

They don’t know who or what caused it, nor what they have to do to stop reincarnating 🙃 and they traverse to different realities with each cycle, so they don’t even get to get used to a single world.

Avatar

How long does it usually take Quill to realise they are born again? Is it like in most isekais at baby stage or when they are a bit older? 🤔

Avatar

I waffled a bit on that one, honestly. I’m still not 100% decided yet I don’t think.

I currently like the idea that the first two years are always disorienting - almost dreamlike and kind of abstract. After that the new body is developed enough that Quill’s soul properly sync’s. It’s a slow process, easing them into the new life more than being a jarring experience.

Despite this, the first two lives were really difficult.

Avatar

Somehow I can picture Quill adopting Salome (while in complete zoan form) and it taking weeks until Salome finally reveals being a human because she is way too shocked about randomly being kidnapped 😂

Avatar

For better or worse I can’t see Quill scooping up a random capybara and declaring it the new pet, but I can see them grabbing on and running away from an intense battle to get it somewhere safe before dashing back to the fray xD

And admittedly, depending on the situation, somewhere safe might be the ship lol 😂

Anonymous asked:

Is Quill more extroverted or introverted?

Extroverted - they aren’t hyper, and can totally chill in a library all day without breaking a sweat, and eventually one of their favorite things to do will be to just drape over Marco and read together with him, but they are definitely the life of a given party.

Social butterfly they flit from one spot to the next with ease. Could probably give Shanks a run for his money - if they didn’t hate him ^^;;;

Avatar

Having that many incantations Quill must have seen and experienced many things. Some of them maybe scary.

So is there anything left that scarves them or that they are afraid of?

Avatar

There’s not much that Quill fears at this point. They’ve simply experienced too much and faced down too many other fears to be bothered by most stuff.

They do, however, tend to severely devalue their own life. After all, they will just be born again, why should they hold something like that sacred? Other lives are, of course, priceless - that’s all those people have.

So Quill tends to be fiercely protective of others. Which can be vexing if you’re trying to protect Quill.

Avatar

So about Quill >.>

What's do you think is going on in their head as they watch you try and figure all this out and why would they think/say that specifically and not the generic response of *inserts generic response* (Additionally, what generic responses would they likely use in situations that typically require more than just a generic response/answer. For example, if someone extremely close to them died, would they likely just say "oof")

Unrelated, I wanna know what makes em different from everyday Dave, if Quill was limited to respond in ways that only Dave could. (Think of Bumblebee from Transformers & how he used the radio to respond in his own quirky way)

Also, if inspired by a character, do they differ in some way from that character?

Idk if anything I said makes sense lmao, so don't worry about answering this if nothing. But yeah, I'm interested in their personality and what makes em quirky. >^.^<

Avatar

I’m not 100% I’m picking up what you’re putting down here, but I’m going to try.

Arrogant as it might be, I inspired Quill - they started out as a possible self-insert-sona of sorts, and they are meant to be almost kind of reader-insert a little (their first life including that they are a fan of One Piece, so as fans of One Piece are more like to read the stories for them, makes that connection.)

But Quill differs from me in that they had a harder life in their first life, they’re not as trusting, they’re way more extroverted, and they’re not afraid of bugs. XD

Quill also enjoys fighting, and while I know how to fight (and have been in fights), I do not like fighting.

Which makes it hard to answer what I think was the start of your ask - how would Quill react to me as I make them, and since they kind of slowly morphed into their own self it’s hard to imagine them looking over my shoulder xD

As for what the everyday Dave thing and being limited to communication, one thing Quill is really good at is communicating. And I don’t mean like, talking about her feelings or rousing an audience with elegant speeches, I mean he picks up languages like a sponge.

So I imagine Quill would adapt well to being limited in communication xD if all else fails they’re okay solving misunderstandings with violence, for better or worse >.>

Avatar

would quill fight 10 duck sized men or 1 man sized duck

Avatar

Hmmm… Quill prefers one on one fights, so they’d lean toward the man-sized duck.

Now… if we were talking man-sized Goose… then I think they’d prefer to fight the ten geese-sized men, frankly. No one with sense wants to fight a goose at proper goose size, never mind at 6’.

I love that comic!!! I honestly thought noone else read it. 🫠

The duchess life sounds very intriguing, but so does the one with Doffy! Its so hard to imagine him being worse tbh. 😂 I'm surprised Quill didn't get one life with crocodile.

Was there any romances that they remember fondly?

Avatar

It’s one of my favorites ^_^

Quill might get a life with Crocodile, I haven’t decided yet. The two of them together could take over the world if they can build any kind of trust >.> so it would be fun to play with that. But the Doffy timeline is to really just write a descent into madness and see how far I can push it ^_^

Ah! Quill remembers most of their romances fondly, if not a little bittersweetly.

One of the things they’ve done to cope with reincarnation, specifically the memories associated with it, is that they tend to draw very deep lines in the sand between each life.

To quote the character themselves (a sentiment that will be repeated over the stories) “Life is a precious thing, and even for me, each life deserves to be lived.” So Quill tries to stay in the moment as much as he can.

You’d be hard pressed to get a proper “favorite” out of them - each one had their pros and cons, but they do love the ones where the drama is external and not internal to the relationship. (Quill is going to be at Kid’s throat, I swear 😩 )

Avatar

Saw you wanted to talk about Quill. ^^

How many times has Quill been reborn? And what was their favourite life's (if they can remember)?

Avatar

Quill find themselves at Lucky # 13 for lives lived when they come into the One Piece world (there's like life 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, etc. because I want to write them having different full on experiences. So the "canon" story is them ending up with the WBP, but there's also a stand alone version where they end up with the Kid Pirates, and another where they end up with Doffy -> and in that one they just kind of descend into madness and make him worse >.> )

Quill's favorite life was when they were a Duchess and got to share a deep love of Tea with the world they grew up in. There was a little intrigue and some social stuff to deal with, but they didn't get into any physical fights, and aside from having to mind how they acted it was a pretty peaceful existence.

That was their 8th life ^_^

(And for those who know, I am paying homage to the Duchess' 50 Tea Recipes comic with that one.)

AHHH I LOVE TALKING ABOUT OCS!!!! i want to hear the full story :33

xD I was expecting people to come in with an exacto knife, and instead you just hauled off with the sawed off shotgun and blew me away \o/

ALRIGHT THEN

Quill is a reincarnator - they've lived and died quite a few times. Each time they die they end up in a different world and a different body.

New name, new lot in life, new abilities (or lack thereof), new language to learn, new culture to navigate.

Quill does NOT know why they keep reincarnating, or if there's anything they're supposed to be trying to accomplish. There hadn't been any kind of god or demon or existential dread that's explained what's going on.

As much as I love the "status window" concept for reincarnation/isekai stories, Quill doesn't have one of those.

What Quill does have is a terribly clear memory of their past lives. In some ways this is very useful, and in other ways it's very traumatizing. Every death is a memory - not just their own, but those in their lives.

Quill did not cope well with the first rebirth - they had been ready and had accepted their death in their first life and were ready to effectively just get to rest. No regrets, nothing to hold them here.

Arriving in the One Piece world is unique for Quill for a couple reasons:

1.) they have amnesia. They remember their past lives clearly, and know that they're a reincarnator, but they cannot remember being born into the One Piece world. They don't know who their parents are, or what they were doing prior to the start of a given story.

2.) They actually recognize the one piece world as a place that was a story in one of their other lives.

No other life that Quill has lived has been directly connected to a story - As Far As Quill Knows - but they know this one very well (they're a fan XD ). Which creates a new issue for Quill because do they just remove themselves from the equation, or do they try to make things better?

Would making them better make them worse?

Is the world's fate even the same with Quill there?

Interestingly enough, having a body that changes forms is not a first for Quill. They were Ranma in a past life, but Quill never read/learned about Ranma 1/2 so they didn't know the story. They were also in a world where people shape-shifted via magic, so for Quill, going to bed with boobs and waking up with a dick, isn't really an issue.

"Identity Crisis" was 8-9 lives ago, they're kind of over that.

And I've been using they/them, but Quill is 100% all pronouns. More out of apathy than anything else. They've been in so many bodies and lived so long they just don't care at this point.

Avatar

Hey, send me asks - anon or not - about my OC Quill.

I wanna talk about them but I keep getting tangled up inside my head and I can’t seem to organize any kind of post 😩

I’ve got nothing but really boring meetings today, so I’d love the distraction honestly ^_^ you can even tell me about your self-insert/OC too =3 I’m always up for hearing about people’s creations

Avatar

Do I want to know what Quill didn't do?

Btw. does doing it with a zoan user in human-beast-form count as bestiality? 🤔

Avatar

...

....

uhm....

hm.

... that score might be a 3 for them, then.

LOL but seriously, no no no - bestiality in this sense is a non-fictional form of it, so it would be By Definition, and thus wouldn't apply to anything except a strictly non-consenting dumb animal.

Which leaves Quill's score unchanged.

In Quill's defense, they average more like 17-25 in any given singular life, but when you're someone who keep reincarnating... well, things get... interesting.
