There can be a really thin line between non-con and dub-con, so it's one of those things where sometimes it's totally valid to see a fic labeled "I meant this as dub con, but it does read kind of non-con" and in the reverse too.
To me, it's fairly simple.
Dubious Consent = consenting under duress, coercion, false pretenses, delusion, drugs, etc. You've accepted the situation to some degree, but if you felt you had an out, you MIGHT not have said yes.
Non-Consensual = even if someone forces you to say you want it, you really don't.
The cause of overlap a lot of times is sometimes it's hard to know if someone is agreeing because they've given in and accepted it (dubious), or if they are agreeing verbally even if they haven't given in (noncon).
Sometimes the story itself can help you know which way you're going with it - and sometimes you just gotta trust an author's notes - and barring either of those, if it feels like something you didn't want to read, set it down and stop.
Hoping some clarification will come along can lead you to reading something you didn't intend.
I do want to clarify that outside of Fiction, both dubious consent and non-con are effectively Non-con. Guilt tripping someone to get them to have sex is skeezy at the least, and by the letter of most laws, assault. This is why in kink, the concept of non con is covered by Consensual Non-Consensual (CNC).
In this way you can explore the elements of non-consent, within consented upon parameters (and of course, safe words still apply!)
And for the dom/sub - we tend to use these terms to mean who takes charge and who goes with the flow, but true Dom/Sub is very much a power dynamic that lives and dies on safe words, because The Dom Is In Control.
In most sexual encounters outside of kink, control can get tossed back and forth like a volleyball. And I think it should too - not like, fighting for control, but just, don't be afraid to ask for what you want, or a position change, etc. "Regular" sex really needs basic communication to be more common ^^;

That's some deep dark dark - and I'm here for it honestly.
I don't know what it is, but making our blorbos suffer, and usually to overcome it later, just has something about it that works for me. I mean, I know one on hand I love the struggle - no matter what shape or form it takes, I'll appreciate it.
My personal preference is that it's a struggle that's overcome, even if that victory takes time, but I've also seen bad ends where I wasn't necessarily satisfied, but I wasn't dissatisfied either.
As far as non con though, this idea currently buries the strike to the hilt - and I would add onto it - or expand on it, but I'm actually working on a comm that touches on This Very Subject.
So I'll refrain for now.
I will say this kind of event was something that wormed into my head some time ago, and I even commissioned the talented Yami to draw it for me.

Asking about how they’ve been and that you’re totally going to beat them the next time you meet as well as telling them about your promotion soon.Pops is listening in and making note to keep an eye on you along with some others.
Getting asked to join the crew and acting surprised and dramatically turning it down “be a pirate?!? Never!!” And turning the question asking if they’d become a marine.
Playing volleyball with some of your stronger crew against them and losing terribly
Winning the bet with ace and him having to do whatever you say(within reason)
Trying thatch’s cooking for the first time
All that just to crumble when the clock hit 12:01 and battles start erupting and in all the chaos they come at you, izou flanking you from behind, Marco taking the front and thatch and ace covering your sides. You’re trapped. No way out.
The betrayal makes everything hurt less, too focused on your emotions and you make one two many mistakes.
To be fair you were holding up very nicely, you could’ve gotten away from them with some help but let’s not worry about that now.
The bag comes over your head and as your kicking and screaming all the way back to the moby dick where you’ll be a nice new addition to the crew.

I like it - the extra details - and as for if Lake Swimming is possible it's hard to say actually. There's been some inconsistency with the lore of DF users and Sea Stone, but that's to be expected with 25+ years and counting.
Based on how I understand it, Lake Swimming would be out of the question, but swimming pools might not be bad if the water's filtered enough (the idea being that natural water has minerals and the minerals are the issue more than the water itself.) Since Baths and Springs don't have the minerals filtered out, this is why Luffy is seen being weakened in these situations.
But Lake swimming doesn't make or break the idea and the setup - and I like it.
I love the idea of a willful, strong, and fiery marine-darling spending weeks - if not months - as a tiny whirlwind of rage as these big power pirates try to break her without breaking her. It's a very delicate and fine line, and she's not exactly letting them handle her with finesse.
I imagine it becomes a sort of 100 fights thing like Ace had with Whitebeard. They let her fight all she wants, but the ship is their home turf. She's on her own and they aren't.

In all honesty I think Yandere Marco would be pretty similar to how “yandere” Sir Crocodile was in Quicksand. Which is to say - since things went his way there’s only the barest hint of his madness present in the story. I had to write an alternative timeline to showcase what was in the background the entire time.
Marco would be the same way. Modern AU Yandere Marco I think wouldn’t ever be exposed, honestly. Maybe if you got tangled up in something and kidnapped you’d learn a lot of your clothes and accessories had trackers in them, but otherwise?
You’d be completely clueless.

I love this - I think you can understand his language, but why let him know that?
This feisty creature was furious at the start of things, but he’s not stupid, and the fury abates to understanding.
He tries to bargain and barter. Threaten and beg, but you don’t let his words mean anything to you. You understand them, understand him, but as you’ve just about shredded his pesky clothes, you see no reason to let on.
What you want to do to him doesn’t require language, and he’s so far below you, you’re not concerned about consent.
You could get it from him. You could tease and poke and lick and purr in a way that would be understandable no matter what. Would it be sweeter for him to give in, or more delicious to take something specifically denied?
It’s hard to say. You know only that you don’t want to break him. His voice and visage are pleasing, he’s strong enough to survive you, and you want to know what he sounds like drowning in heat and pleasure.
Perhaps his companions will find you, and perhaps they will be strong enough in combination to topple you.

Hm. I'll answer both cause both are gonna be a bit concise.
Kink I've always wanted to write that I haven't, I am currently working on actually. The biggest reason for the Dark Yandere Passing Fascination Title is specifically to really dig into stuff I haven't given myself permission to write. so that list is in progress of dwindling XD
What I wish there was more of... this might sound weird, but maybe it's just because I have very specific characters in mind, but I can never find the kind of non-con/dub-con that scratches my itch.
An example would be - Marco x Teach - I want Teach to do terrible things to my beloved bird, mostly because I want Marco to survive them and eviscerate Teach at a later date.
Every fic I've found that's non-con for Marco just breaks him, and I appreciate that's an itch some folks want scratched, but my personal preference is that the FIRE endures. That will, that ferocity, that bright burning powerful soul just don't give up.
I can't help it, I enjoy a good struggle, and since the struggle's often what I like, I prefer happy endings over bad.
Idk, maybe because I've survived some shit, I just resonate more with it. I just have a hard time finding it. But! The other side to that is, it really has to be a character I give a shit about, so the concept might exist, but say, it exists for Luffy, that doesn't do me personally much good. I love Luff, but he's not a blorbo.

I don’t think any problematic thing is inherently bad in terms of tropes/smut, as long as a few rules are followed: (sometimes extreme situations can be therapeutic as long as you’re not subjected to them unwillingly. Consent in reality land is 100% non-negotiable!)
1. You’re keeping reality and fantasy separate in a healthy and clear way.
2. You’re not trying to circumvent laws that are in place to protect people who cannot consent.
3. You tag and mark your works/shares with the needed content warnings so no one is surprised. (Be willing to grow here too, cause times/audiences change!)
Anyway, vote! (Not all of these are going to vibe as problematic, most are fairly common kinks.)
