I’m hoping the stuff I give you makes you and whoever sees it think, that’s half the fun.

You’ve certainly done a whole lot so I’m tryina give you something that’s not repetitive (I do fall into it a couple times 😅)

I put lots of thought into an ask before asking anyone when I’m talking ab an idea I like :)

And so

The government letting doffy/croc have marine reader due to them being a warlord and having power and influence the government doesn’t want loose

OH

OH MY GOD

Fucking Blackbeard asking for marine reader and due to them not being that strong they give in and assign them to him to keep the new warlord satisfied and after the betrayal they are kept under lock and key

Ooooh I like this, I see what we can do with this. I know the WG is corrupt, but the idea that they're basically tossing marines at warlords to keep them "happy" is pretty wild. The more I chew on it though, the more I think I could see it.

It's not even that you're really being requested, you're just being assigned. And hey, maybe a request did happen somewhere if they already managed to catch a glimpse of you and have that yandere desire snap to attention.

I love the Blackbeard idea, I do, but what really slithers into my brain is Crocodile.

Crocodile who got assigned you on a whim, and you've been a fantastic liaison. You're actually competent, and a little challenging to deceive. Crocodile's actually pretty sure you know every time he's been giving you total bs, but you can't prove it and he's so beloved by the Alabasta populace that you can't really do anything anyway.

You're just not going to get the support you need for a proper investigation.

It's a shame Princess Vivi never meets you.

But anyway, Crocodile loses, you're reassigned, and time goes by. The world changes as the young man who turned Alabasta on its head goes about and continues to do so. You're with Smoker and Tashigi - you've seen this kid up close and you knew Crocodile was doing shady shit.

You are, effectively, Team Luffy XD (Quietly, of course, you need that marine paycheck, you got BILLS).

Marineford and Crocodile's busted free, and the Revelry means the warlord system is disbanded, and you don't think anything of it really - above your pay grade, and you'll never have to worry about being assigned to another pirate.

But one pirate's got you on his mind.

Has for months. Hasn't stopped thinking about you. What a delight you are, how he misses the sound of your voice, how he misses seeing that knowing scowl. How you didn't fear him.

You you admitted he was handsome, and charming, but that didn't matter - him being a warlord and you a marine, you had a job to do. Him and his ego could just rot.

But he didn't rot.

He got free.

And as the sands surround you, you remember the words he said to you once before. A statement of his character, he warned, a particularly strong detail about crocodiles that he himself did share with them.

He doesn't let useful things go.

I need it so bad, and I just need to decide how I’m going to write it.

The payback wars, and near the end of the fight, Marco desperately defending the remains of the crew as they retreat. He’s exhausted but he has enough to buy them time and fly off for himself.

But as he goes to leave he hears Teach’s booming voice. The traitor doesn’t call Marco’s name, he says your name. Marco can’t help the cold iron in his stomach as he turns to look at Teach.

To see you, shackled and gagged, writhing like spitfire and rage, caught soundly in the much larger’s man’s hand.

You, who hadn’t come to this fight.

You, who had stayed behind to mourn the losses that had sparked it.

You, who above all others should’ve been safe.

Marco lands in front of Teach, not even flinching as his crew puts him in chains and hands the lead to Teach. The irons are just that, there’s no seastone needed. Marco won’t abandoned you, and the chains are an agreement.

His compliance assures your safety, and worry not little bug, Teach tells you. Marco knows what he wants from him, once he has his fill - so long as everyone behaves - he’ll drop you off at the island and leave you be.

Hey Doll Poll

So I have a solid number of things planned for my Thatch x Reader and all its glory, but I was curious about something, and figured I'd just bust out a poll.

In Hey Doll - no matter the results of this poll - the primary antagonists are already set, and not any of the usual suspects either.

But a secondary or tertiary possibility could be fun. I'm not saying I'm going to do anything with this if the story doesn't allow for it, but!

You can vote even if you haven't yet started Hey Doll, or even if you don't mean too. If the vibes compel you to click a shiny button

then

CLICK IT.

From his spot on the floor, Thatch can see you standing behind Teach, clutching that damned fruit against your chest with wide eyes as you stare at the growing blood puddle. He wants to tell you to run, but before he can speak, your eyes snap to Teach. "You... this wasn't s-supposed to..." Teach briefly turns back to glance at your cowering form, but turns back to Thatch just as quickly. "Come on. You want to be free, don't you?" Keeping his back to you was a mistake. Thatch chokes on his blood the second you start wolfing down the fruit yourself.

So I have another couple asks sitting in my inbox, and I’m going to continue to sit on those and chew on them but this has grabbed my undivided attention.

What do you think the punishment for willingly going with teach is when they’re hunted down, caught and brought back to the moby dick?

Its getting me thinking, it would definitely be a lot greater because someone almost died

Would thatch be the main one dishing it out? (Pun intended)

Oh Nonnie wants me to go dark dark, huh?

Cw: dark themes, sensory deprivation, gas lighting, mentions of amputation and torture as possibilities, referring to reader as a toy or thing,

Okay so

Wb pirates but Yandere, they slip up and when teach stabs thatch(he survives cause I said so) he takes reader with him and everyone proceeds to freak the fuck out like a dog on cocaine

Like???? I think marco and thatch would have it the worst cause Marcos the most obsessed and grilling himself on how this could happen and thatch is sitting in the recovery room pissed he couldn’t protect them? But I can imagine everyone is spiraling.

How far would teach get? Would it still just be ace who goes after him?

I love the idea that at some point the reader had told Teach they really missed home. Like, they’ve come to terms with being a part of the crew no matter what, but it’d be nice to be able to go home.

So when Teach’s reason to bounce happens, he brings them along. (Grabbing the reader is what makes the stabbing job just sloppy enough that Thatch survives). In this way he’s almost a good guy? But even the reader’s like “I appreciate the intent, but turning traitor still not cool.”

Plus now that they’re off the ship and on the run, the reader’s a nervous wreck. Are they really free? Are they really going to be able to go home, even for just a little while? Is there really any place in the world they could disappear into and not have to worry?

And there are SO MANY WAYS this could go too.

Maybe they’re too attached to whoever and Teach’s plan to “save” them ends up with them stabbing him in the back? Whether it’s Ace or more, they find the reader sword in hand, covered in blood, just kind of losing it by Teach’s corpse.

Maybe they do manage to disappear and start a new life, and it’s not until it’s all said and done - where the news says everyone from the crew is dead or imprisoned and no one even knows where Marco is. They go to the island to pay their respects at the gravesite, not really guilty about leaving, but the crew did care for them, even if it was twisted.

I’m saying farewell they learn that Marco is indeed alive and well. Fully retired on the island. Doctor and protector. The sweet ending is the both of them apologizing - Marco for how they trapped the reader, the reader for how they left. It’s a long LONG road of hard conversations and compromises, but it works out in the end.

Or it’s just as it was and they’re chained and restrained in his home until they break again, accepting their fate and filling the void of his grief.

But maybe the four famous commanders catch up with Teach. The fight that ensues could go a few ways, but is the tragedy that the reader doesn’t survive the fight? Does the pain of that loss shatter the others that Teach ends up with far greater treasures? Izou and Thatch won’t survive, but who does the WG want more? The King’s brat, or Pops’ most beloved son? They could have both but Teach feels he’s earned the other as his own prize.

There’s certainly a lot in there to play around with. Including a real turning point where the reader foils Teach’s plans entirely and he dies on the Moby. The reader earns way more freedoms after that, even though the crew still essentially keeps them. But for them to risk life and limb to protect Thatch puts everyone at ease.
