It was the usual hustle, bustle, and stress as every year. Heat, Wire, and Kid had managed to drag him to every costume store in the city, but Killer remained unmoved. This year, he intended to upstage them all. Walking around the store, absolutely none of the ready-to-wear outfits or makeup spoke to the blond. If anything, he was too focused on making sure his friends didn't destroy the store.

“Don't touch that,” Killer said while slapping Kid's hand away from a glass pumpkin display that he would somehow manage to break if he got his fingers on it.

“I'm not a fuckin' kid!”

“It's literally your fuckin' name.”

Doflamingo leaned over the counter, face to the mirror as he fixed the eyeliner adorning his lids. He smudged it a little to give it a natural, smoky look and leaned back to take a good gander. He double checked the powder white paint covering his face and neck, making sure it was correctly blended. Even though you and his brother had practically begged on hands and knees to join them in the costume contest, he had “begrudgingly” accepted, rolling his eyes playfully as you two did your victory dance.

Now here he was, throwing on a purple and white baseball outfit dressed as a vampire. Oh, the things he did for the people he loved.

Halloween was upon them, their first ever modern celebration since coming back to the mortal realm. Kaku was most interested in the tradition of dressing up and going door to door, and Zoro was more interested in the candy. Last they were among humans, people just wouldn’t leave their homes on superstition of All Hallows Eve.

Zoro looked over the fuzzy clawed gloves he was stuck wearing, “So, why aren’t we just using magic for these costumes?”
