Skies of Stories

@quilloftheclouds / quilloftheclouds.tumblr.com

Call me Quill! (They/Them) This might be a writeblr, but I also have a deep, nerdy love of the natural world, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of that, too! If you like my work, consider supporting me on patreon!
Avatar

Hey hey mateys! It’s your local ocean-obsessed, starry-eyed, non-binary they/them nerd BACK AT IT with flailing haphazardly at their keyboard until something at least semi-coherent comes out! (Maybe even something FUN TO READ! *gasp*)

The name’s Quill! This is the utter madness that is my writing blog! Here you’ll find writing resources of various sorts; marvellously creative content reblogged from my fellow writeblrs (often with enthusiastic commentary attached!); and the occasional posts of original content, rambling about my own projects’ worldbuilding and characters, moodboards and graphic edits, or even snippets from the story itself~

Have an interest in historical fantasy or sci-fi adventures? Do the themes of pirates, sapient sirens, science and symbolism-based magic, and/or electricity-formed aliens strike your fancy? There’s more weird than just that in my wips--stick around for some stories just as quirky (and queer) as Quill themself!

(Most of my wip pages are under renovation, but feel free to click the project titles to find more information!)

Series Title: Anchored Souls (Main WIP)

Book Titles: One Siren’s Soul, Two Witch’s Woven, & Three Star’s Stolen

Four misfits of the Golden Age of Piracy have to settle their differences long enough to get back a stolen magical artifact—not so easy when His Majesty’s Royal Navy wants you dead, and when the shadows swimming under your ship want just the same… And of course, that’s not all that hinders them: war rides on the tides, and it’s quickly coming in.

Book Title: CIRCUIT (Novella - Secondary WIP)

A U.F.O. crashes into a hill. The next day, the entirety of the electrical grid surrounding it, the lifeblood of nearby Kellowaut City, goes dark. But it’s not just a normal power outage... not even batteries work. G.R.I.D., a government formed group aiming to investigate and solve the power problem, forms from the wreckage. But what they find leads to no easy solution.
The one responsible might be alien, but she’s also an innocent child, and the blame goes sideways when she reveals it was all an accident.

Book Title: The Mirror’s Rifts (Novella - Kinda on the back burner)

The new kid in the neighbourhood, Maxine didn’t expect to make friends so quickly–nor did she expect to get caught up in a world-endangering puzzle of parallel dimensions and time-defying monsters.

Inspired by @pens-swords-stuff‘s recent writeblr intro, I realized my last one was posted over a year ago so TIME FOR A NEW ONE YAY!

(Aka Quill just wanted an excuse to make another graphic...)

So without further ado: HI HELLO MY NAME IS QUILL, I’m a they/them non-binary nerd, welcome to the utter madness that is my writing blog~

I post the occasional advice or ask game, some wip things, and a lot of reblogs of writeblr content (often with some enthusiastic comments attached)! If you like fantasy/sci-fi and especially pirates, sirens, weird magic, and/or aliens, stick around for some neat wip blurbs~

writeblr intro

Hi, my name is Rachel (she/her) and I’ve made this blog dedicated to writing!

A bit about me; I am 22 and from London, I have a BA in Creative Writing, and I’ve been writing stories since I was about six years old. My favourite genres to write are psychological thriller, crime, and new adult, or stories with generally angsty/sad vibes. The majority of my works are set solidly in realism, tackle themes of self identity and morality, and they rarely ever have happy endings. I’m not sure what that says about me lmao. However, as a reader, I will read pretty much anything.

I adore writing short stories and most of my work is around the 1-5k word mark, but the dream is to one day write and publish at least one novel. The goal for this upcoming year, though, is to get at least one of my shorts published somewhere.

I’m also an Aquarius (hence the url) and a Ravenclaw. I cannot tell you my favourite book but my favourite authors are Stephen King, Marissa Myer and Gillian Flynn; my favourite classic is the Great Gatsby; my favourite tv series is La Casa de Papel; my favourite film is Inception; and my favourite stage show is Billy Elliot.

Sadly, I don’t have any WIPs. I hit a bit of a brick wall after finishing my dissertation and graduating last year, and now I’m not writing at all in my job I need something to keep me excited about ideas and stories.

This blog is to share resources, prompts, quotes and all other things about being a writer. However, above anything, I hope that seeing other writers on my dash will keep me inspired, motivated and excited about my own work.

If you’re a writeblr or post about creative writing give this post a like/reblog, my dash is fairly void of writing content. I will be following on my main (bababueno).

I don’t really know many other writeblrs but I believe being involved in creative communities can be super beneficial to your art. So, feel free to reply down below or send me an ask and tell me about yourself! What do you love to write and read? What are you currently working on?

HELLO HELLO!!! Welcome to writeblr! I wish you all the best with your writing and I hope you get your creativity back--I can guarantee you that writeblr has been super helpful to me personally with ideas and inspiration. ^u^

New Writeblr Introduction

Hello again!

I am Potato, and I am a writer. I think.

I have an intro a while ago, but since I have taken a long break for a while, I decided to start over again. So here I am.

I am now a 22-year-old creature that prefers to stay home and talk to herself away from other living beings, but I also sometimes feel like I want to interact with people. And since the internet is a big place where I can just decide to take breaks from everything whenever I feel like it, it’s kind of the perfect place for that, so here I am!

I’ll try to keep every following sections as brief as I can (which is very unlikely, but I’ll try).

About My Writing:

I am currently working on developing a group of non-human creatures called Songbirds (I think I have everything mostly in order), and most of my characters are those creatures. I think I have only 3 or 4 human characters.

As of right now, I have no specific WIP, but I do have plans to prepare something for next NaNoWriMo. I’m just not sure what it should be yet.

I like to write platonic relationships, settings with elements of fantasy and magic, and slice of life.

So for now, I’ll talk briefly about the characters I mainly write these days. Since It’s too long, I’ll leave it under the cut. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day!

Hello hello!! And welcome to writeblr! Best of luck with your writing~ <3

writeblr intro.

hi everyone! i’m asphodelflds, but some of you probably already know me from my old blog @wiipciity. since i’m back with a brand new blog and a lot has changed since i first joined writeblr, i figured i’d introduce myself again.

my name is j (but i also go by jess). i’m eighteen, bisexual, and i’m comfortable with any pronouns. i try to write stories with diverse casts and identities, and my main genres are fantasy and scifi, although i’m stretching out into more romance and historical fiction stories. after finishing the first draft of my first ever novel, i’ve found myself at a lost for where to go next with my writing and characters and i’m hoping that through this blog i’ll find some inspiration and motivation.

on this blog, you’ll see:

  • excerpts of worldbuilding and character boards.
  • random short stories from prompts i’ve written or asks i’ve gotten.
  • drawings, sketches, and comics of characters.
  • memes and shitposts. i make way too many memes of my characters.

i’ll also reblog pictures, quotes, and textposts i like, but there will likely be no fancy photoshopped elements to go along with posts i make. besides, you wouldn’t want to see those anyway—i’m subpar at photoshop at best. if anything i’ve said interests you, feel free to follow or ask me anything!

Hello writeblr!

I’m a new blog looking for other writeblrs (with minimal unrelated content) to follow, so if you fit this description could you do me a massive favour and reblog this post and maybe write in the tags a little about your wips if you feel like sharing? (Bonus points if they’re sci-fi!)

My own main wip is a character-driven Cyberpunk adventure called The OutNets. It’s about a group of fugitives trying to establish a place within their giant city for like-minded individuals to live free. I’ll be reblogging writing stuff and posting about this wip once I readjust to life on tumblr!

I’m glad to be back and I look forward to hopefully finding new wips to obsess over!

Hello lovelies! I’m not at all new to writeblr, but I thought it was due time that I re-introduce myself and my projects, so here we are~

You can call me Quill! I’m a non-binary (they/them) nerd with simultaneously too much energy and none at all. I have a great passion for anything ocean, rocks, plants, or sky, and I absolutely love learning new things! Also, a fun pastime of mine is screeching enthusiastic encouragement at all my friends. <3

This blog is mostly for posting my own writing content, reblogging others’ works and writing advice, and keeping track of things that I find neat! There’s also the occasional art piece from me, though I tend to find drawing a lot more energy-consuming than writing.

Here’s some brief blurbs about my current projects!

The One Siren’s Soul series: I’m currently on the second of three books, called Two Witches Woven. It’s a YA Historical Fantasy story based during the Golden Age of Piracy!

The Diluculo’s crew sets off to return a magical artifact to its true guardians, their voyage drawing the attention of a rather peculiar pirate captain as it leads them directly into the heart of siren territory. But that’s not all that hinders them: war rides on the tides, and it’s quickly coming in.

CIRCUIT: YA Modern Science Fiction with aliens and electrokinesis conundrums~

A U.F.O. crashes into a hill. The next day, the entirety of the electrical grid surrounding it goes dark. But it’s not a normal power outage--not even batteries work. A government agency forms from the wreckage: G.R.I.D., a group to investigate and hopefully solve the power problem. But what they find leads to no easy solution.
The one responsible might be an alien, but they’re also an innocent child, and the blame goes sideways when she reveals it was all accidental.

The Mirror’s Rifts: MG Modern Fantasy Adventure~

The new kid in the neighbourhood, Maxine didn’t expect to make friends so quickly–nor did she expect to get caught up in a world-endangering puzzle of parallel dimensions and time-defying monsters.

Hello, traveller! I’m Waya/Dog (they/them) and I’m a Native (n’ white), autistic, and type one diabetic writer who primarily writes werewolf, wlw romance, and mystery stories and other things in undetermined genres.
What you can find on this blog will primarily be rambles and works for my own content (including the AUs and drabbles I write for my main WIP), special interests, and writing things with a healthy dose of whatnot thrown into the mix. While I have several stories I’m actively writing and working on, there are only two that I routinely write and post for—

The Sparrows: Slice of life-ish story posted in episodes (a serial, if you will)—features an autistic protag, a semi-slow burn wlw romance, found family, healing from trauma, bizarre heists and the like, an ensemble cast, a cat listed as a main character, also did I mention bizarre heists?

Edge of the Lonely Quiet: A story akin to homeward bound but if it had wolf-shifters, features shifter politics, complex romantic and platonic relationships, isolation, a sadistic sleazy cult, running from literal murderers across four thousand miles, wolf-shifter puppies, the ever-recurring strength and importance of a mother’s love, frequent murder, the ever-recurring theme that being emotional/scared isn’t weak, cheating death but only barely, bird symbolism, healing from trauma, and a cabin in the woods.

You can also read most if not all of my stories, short stories, and lengthy one-shots on my Wattpad, here!

aaahhhh WAYA YOU HAVE SUCH A LOVELY NAME. And I love this gorgeous naturey aesthetic your blog has taken on! Harehearts is such a sweet and gentle url. <3 ANYWAYS, AS ALWAYS, I LOVE YOUR WIPS!!

A late writeblr intro

My name is (Fe)lix I’ve had this blog a while but I don’t know if it says I’m 21 because that’s how old I was when I made it or I forgot my age again. Either way I’m almost 23 now. My pronouns are they/he/it and my gender is ‘fuck’. I’m technically from the Midwest United States but I think it’s too far east. I’m two states from the east coast. It should be Mideast.

  • I’m a mixed poc
  • I’m aro-spec and asexual
  • I love writing but I have a few brain problems that make me step away from projects so you’ll see a bit about all my stories at some point or other.
  • My favorite genres to read and write are fantasy, supernatural. I really love ghosts.
  • I have 16 current WIPs and yes it is hell but my brain likes me too much to stop coming up with ideas.
  • I write poetry on occasion and I’d like to start posting it more
  • I mostly reblog things like references and quotes but I’m hoping to start making mood boards, posting quotes and excerpts.
  • I rarely tag out of laziness unless they’re potential triggers; most of my posts are queued.
  • Lots of my stories have either poly relationships or little to no romance for the main characters. I’m going to make a separate post for my Wips as I feel this one is rambly enough.

Hello hello and welcome to writeblr, Felix!! lakjflskdjg I totally understand the ‘too many ideas and not enough time/motivation to work on them’ ^^’ I don’t quite have 16 wips, though! Yet. XD

Best of luck with your writing!!

🌱 i’m always up to talk to new people! it doesn’t have to be about writing, i like to think i’m a friendly person ‘n i like making friends c:

i’m going to tag some writeblrs i follow and admire! @sprigofbasil @yvesdot @harehearts

Hello lovely, and welcome to writeblr!! I also have adhd and possibly autism, so I... understand your brain’s state quite well. ^^’ I also think about writing far more than I will ever write. BUT I DO WRITE. WE’LL GET OUR PROJECTS DONE, SOME DAY!

*Technically* New Writeblr!

Hi! I’m Gray, you might remember me from my old blog, @writing-instead-of-fighting! I took a bit of an extended break, but I’m back now, and I have this new blog!

I currently have three main projects, one that has no name and I am currently calling Project July for camp nanowrimo, one that I am calling Something Isn’t What it Seems, and project kestrel! I talked a little about SIWS on my old blog, but not very much. Out of those three, i probably talked the most about project Kestrel.

anyway, i’m 16, she/her, i love to write, and my favorite food is spaghetti! i hope you’ll stick around as i try to write!

Welcome back!! I’m excited to find out more about your projects, and I wish you the best with writing!

Hello, traveler! I’m Waya/Dog and this is my writeblr (re) introduction.

I’m autistic + t1d + mixed (tsalagi native n’ white) and my pronouns are they/them! I’m primarily a hobbyist writer who’s also beginning to dabble in art on an equal level—my stories and OCs tend to be my special interests (and are mostly what you’ll see me post on this blog) but wolves (canids in general), and some bear and bird stuff will also be featured!
  • While I read a myriad of genres, I primarily only write: crime/mystery/high and urban fantasy/adventure + a small side helping of paranormal — however, a majority of my stories (short and lengthy) are AUs for my main serial fiction, Crime of Mind and, primarily, the main characters: Vivian and Benji.
  • If I write it there’s a 99.9% chance that there’s a wlw romance with a height difference at the forefront of the story.
  • Most if not all of my characters are autistic and/or have ADHD.
While this isn’t a comprehensive list of my stories and you can find a better kept (and frequently updated) list of them—of which you can find here as well as on my wattpad where I post short stories/one-shots/and most of the stories featured on my blog—the following are the stories that I primarily write for and prioritize.

Crime of Mind: A slice of life-ish story posted in episodes—features an autistic protag, a semi-slow burn wlw romance, found family, healing from trauma, serial killer + increasingly bizarre killer hunting, an ensemble cast, and a cat and a dog are listed as main characters.

Edge of the Lonely Dark: A story akin to homeward bound but if it had wolf-shifters, features shifter politics, complex romantic and platonic relationships, isolation, a sadistic sleazy cult, running from literal murderers across four thousand miles, wolf-shifter puppies, the ever-recurring of a mother’s love, frequent murder, cheating death but only barely, bird symbolism, healing from trauma, and a cabin in the woods.

WAYA! THAT IS SUCH A WONDERFUL NAME OH MY STARS.

I just!! Love your writing so much!! If you haven’t already, y’all definitely need to check out Waya’s works!!

~ * ~ * ~ WRITEBLR INTRODUCTION  ~ * ~ * ~

Okay so this is technically a reintroduction because I used to have a writeblr side blog attached to my main blog but y’know didn’t really use it or like having it as a side blog. so made a new one.

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m 22, a Libra and from Northern Ireland. I play a lot of video games and get distracted easily. I can’t spell that well. Getting a history and english literature degree.

What I write:

- supernatural  - mystery  - fantasy - new adult  - crime  - small town dramas/romance

What I like

- supernatural - fantasy  - horror (but depends on the horror. Like there are levels that I can cope with)  - new adult - ya - mythology based

My current WIPS are:  - The Bay  - Death Count (And one that’ll never be mentioned on the blog because it’s too attached to my main main)

Hello hello, fellow cloud lover!!! Cloud url buddies~

What intrigue to your wips! I am curious indeed at those synopses, and I can’t wait to find out more!

Writeblr Intro!

*waves awkwardly* Hey everyone!! So since my old writeblr (with the same url) was a sideblog and it Bothered me, I decided to delete and start over! I will be re-following the people that I did shortly and hopefully making myself look more aesthetic this time around, as well as promote other people’s content in a more organized manner and maybe finally learn how to queue properly!

For those of you who may discover me for the first time, I use the name Auri around this part of the internet. I’m 19, I live in Canada, and I’m lowkey dying in university while trying to double major in two things that are not creative writing (life regret XD). I love to read pretty much any sort of fiction but mostly fantasy and sci-fi/dystopia. Favourite books include but are not limited to The Night Circus, This Savage Song, A Darker Shade of Magic, The Raven Boys, Legend. I speak English and Hindi, play four instruments but am below average at all of them, and Do Not Like the cold. I also love talking to people so if you think we have something in common (or not!) drop a message if you’d like to chat :D

My WIPs include:

- a time travel story that involves chasing a thief across alternate timelines

- a story with witches, demons, and genies in an urban fantasy-ish setting that involves a witch girl trying to break a curse put on her as a child

- a story with 3 college students with paranormal powers, investigating the death of one ghost and finding themselves in way over their heads

- a collab with a friend not on writeblr that is a high-fantasy with a whole lot of magic, political conflict, grey characters, redemption arcs, found family, and creepy experiments

Hi, Auri!! Love the name~

And your wips sound oh so interesting! Ahh, I can’t wait to see more of you around writeblr! Best of luck on your writing endeavours! ^u^

Hi! Please bear with me, this is my first writeblr and it’s still a work in progress.

about me

My name is Reese and I’m a 25 year old black speculative fiction writer. I currently write SF/F short stories and my goal is to shape up my WIP to submit to market magazines.
My writeblr will contain writing advice, quotes from my favorite authors, moodboards for my WIP, and original posts. I play games, read comics, and dabble in photoshop and crochet.

my writing

I write short stories and wrote a novel last year just to see if I could––I did and it was badass. I’m learning to experiment with style and have the patience to see what vibes with me. So far, my protagonists are New Adults awkwardly making their way through the world.
My writing has a lot of influences but my top 5 are: N.K Jemisin, Alyssa Wong, Octavia E. Butler, Claire Vaye Watkins, and Maggie Stiefvater (bonus+ novelist is Ursula K. Le Guin)

my wip

oh baby, it’s code – speculative/science fiction. a companion android fights a sentient virus for control over his body. how do you fight for something that was never yours? (currently rewriting
live from mars – science fiction. olivia will sacrifice anything to start a new life on another planet. every face has a price, she’s told. (second draft)
the waters have teeth – speculative fiction. mermaids and the creatures of the deep have inherited earth long after the last of humanity has abandoned it. (currently drafting)
eye for an eye - speculative fiction. a corporate employee has one chance of wiping out her family debt. (currently brainstorming)

Hello Reese! Welcome to writeblr!

I am absolutely loving the sound of your wips, holy stars! All of them sound so amazing and I especially can’t wait to find out more about Oh Baby, It’s Code and The Waters Have Teeth!

Best of luck on your writing endeavours!
