- Celestine has a massive sweet tooth, to the point where, if given the opportunity, she would likely steal far more sweets and desserts than shiny things.
- Celestine can make leaps far longer and higher than... really should be possible for her build and weight. Wonder why that is.

💡
- Dione gains a double set of serrated fangs at the end of book one as a consequence of using magic she... really shouldn’t have.
I paused in my steps, blinking confusedly as I felt the jagged edges in my mouth with my tongue. I slid the pad of my thumb along the points of my teeth, the sharp tips to the serrated fangs now replacing my eye teeth and first molars catching on the skin.

💡💡💡 for whatever character(s) you want 😉 -chayscribbles
@chayscribbles I’ll give you some for the hissy cat! ^^
- Celestine can’t drink anything aside from her twice daily saltwater, because it would negate the spell she has that allows her to remain in her human form! Minor liquid in food doesn’t count, though she wouldn’t eat things like soup anyways. ^^’
- Siren’s blood crystallizes to a magic filled gemstone or mineral when left to the air for too long--how curious that “celestine” is the name of a light blue crystal...
- Celestine was originally born the third youngest child, and had about eight siblings all told! (Alas, she doesn’t remember this. .n.)
- Runi has bioluminescent lines of dots that curve over his face and arms--but they only show up when he uses his magic (and it’s dark).
💡 Celestine!
- Celestine has never once killed someone in her life... that she can remember.
💡 for someone from The Dark's Treasured Glow, please!
Oh oh!! I haven’t talked about this series in AGES!
- Zeke and Allin (Xali’s dad) are rumored to have dated when they were younger--and current rumors say that they might start again soon~ >u>
💡 I have a desperate need to know more about Caelin
Caelin is Best Child!
- Caelin serves as the important source of a lot of information, rumors and legends especially, because of all the stories she has heard and told herself! Many sailors’ legends in OSS end up being at least partially true, and her background in these is very helpful to the crew!
💡 for Celestine!
- When Celestine gets particularly riled up, to the point of using magic, her hair starts to poof up and spark and legitimately turn into a magic storm cloud.
- The best way to calm Celestine down is to wrap her in something soft. She also purrs when particularly happy. What I’m saying? Celestine as a purrito is very much so canon.
- Phoenix was a lighthouse keeper for a while when she was younger! This is mainly the reason behind her love and knowledge of fire~
- Due to his clumsiness, Caelin is almost constantly breaking things when he goes ashore. This is why he’s banned in so many shops along the coast. ^^’
💡 + celestine martinez
- The only thing stopping Celestine from taking ALL THE COINS from wishing fountains she comes across is the fact that there is Awful, Terrible Water barricading her from her prize.
From one storyteller with a tiny blunt menace of a captain to another, I gotta send a lightbulb for Io. :)
HEY YOU NEED TO TELL ME ABOUT YOUR TINY BLUNT MENACE OF A CAPTAIN I ALREADY LOVE THEM.
- Io is capable of Epic Parkour but she doesn’t ever do it in front of her crew because! Her gloves would get dirty! And that would be the Absolute Worst!
- Caelin braids their hair with different ribbon colours depending on what pronouns they prefer that day! Red = she/her, yellow = they/them, blue = he/him. This comes up in canon in book two. ^^
- When they were younger, Io and her sister would sneak away with their father’s swords to practice fencing with each other in secret. Io was at that time learning to fence through her Navy training, so it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been.
one 💡 for sindre, a second 💡 for io, and another 💡 for xuan?
- Sindre loves the night time and stargazing, but whenever he tries to stay on deck after sunset, he always manages to attract a swarm of bugs. Moths in particular. Some of the Compass’ crew theorizes it’s because his white hair sometimes shines under the moonlight.
- Io hates looking people in the eyes and will instead distract herself with fidgeting with either her gloves or a random object while speaking to someone. If eye contact is absolutely necessary, she’ll focus on someone’s mouth, instead of their eyes. It’s close enough that most people don’t notice the difference.
- Xuân is intersex! Though it’s not brought up exactly in canon (since they don’t exactly have karyotyping in the 1700s), she has xxy or Klinefelter syndrome. This resulted in her being way heckin’ taller than both of her parents, having a notable difficulty with fine motor skills like writing, and a few other traits. She’s not too bothered by it, though.
💡💡💡? :D
Three for... Dione!
- Dione used to have a heckin’ amazing singing voice. Before... you know. She stopped having a voice at all.
- Dio thinks it rude not to thank plants for what they give.
- Dione inherited her ageless magic from her mother--when she was born, her mother started aging again, and passed away when Dione reached the same age she had stopped aging at. (Dione blames herself for this.)
