“The Court remembers, and The Court does not care.”
-Yellow Diamond, “Steven Universe”
The great Diamond Authority
Do not repost!
I’m [not] ready! I’m [not] ready!
me during the movie: why doesn’t Steven call the Diamonds for help? all of your friends are out of their memories, you’re out of powers, and Diamonds have healing abilities too (yes Lapis you apparently forgot they can heal gems just as much as Steven can) plus they might know where Spinel brought that injector from and know how to turn it off and they’re super big? hello? you have the former emperors of gemkind one Diamond communicator call away! what do you have to lose, boy?
Steven in SUF: *takes 17 episodes and apparently a few months in canon to finally approach the Diamonds for help with his anger issues.*
me: oh. I see
I like the fact that Yellow gems tends to be soft-hearted and sassy
while Blue gems
are ready to kick your ass
Wanted to explore Yellow feeling some very strong Regrets regarding Pink’s death. Inspired by Yellow’s inner monologue where she felt responsible for Pink’s fate and Pink’s line where she tells Pearl that Blue and Yellow didn’t care about her. I feel like these two would be plagued by constant internal “what if”s surrounding Pink’s demise and they’d feel immense regret considering they now have the tools and mindset to help their Pink, but can’t since she’s truly gone forever.
Sketchbook 2019 So there was a scene in the last Steven Universe episode, “Change Your Mind” where something happened to White Diamond that helped change her. After it all happened It reminded me of this iconic scene from Jim Carrey’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas and I had to do it.
Man I always told myself I was gonna finish this. And then I didn’t.
in the back you can see the golden ratio, i really like this detail.
I know a lot of people dislike what we see of Spinel and the diamonds in “Homeworld Bound” because everyone seems too well-adjusted and reformed and happy, but that’s actually what I love? Because this would be a standard episode premise on any day where Steven wasn’t in crisis and still had his own emotions good and suppressed.
Think about it: Steven would come to Homeworld to check on Spinel and the diamonds and they would do exactly what we saw. Spinel would be a lovable goof. Yellow, Blue, and White would be excited to show off their new powers and how they’ve begun righting their wrongs. The four of them would seemingly get along great; it would be happily ever after. But Steven would see cracks in their facade. They would try to deny it at first, but it would come out that things weren’t perfect. They just pretended because they really didn’t want to disappoint Steven. But of course Steven would be so accepting, and he’d give a little speech about how they’re still trying to be perfect when perfect isn’t real. What’s important is that they’re trying to do better and making progress. Episode ends lesson learned all is well que star transition.
But Steven is in serious personal crisis during “Homeworld Bound,” so the image of Spinel and the diamonds’ happy little Era Three remains unquestioned and intact.
1/7 Here is some part of my storyboard on Steven Universe Future Finale “I am My Monster”. Despair on the beach… “This is my fault!”
I love the imagery that Godzilla!Steven had to cry to uncorrupt himself, having thus surrounded himself in all 4 diamond essences in the water
So um I made this chart to see how big steven grew in growing pains AND UH BIG BOY
