The Steven Universe crew have a serious thing for Mayfly-December and immortal/mortal ships.

We have Rose/Greg, naturally.

Steven/Connie starts out pretty normal. But then it turns out he’s really 14 and nobody knows how long he’ll live…. or how he’s gonna age!

And now there’s Pearl and ”S”.

There’s really not much in the way of human/human ships outside of a couple of married couples who don’t get much spotlight. 

There’s pretty much just Sadie and Lars

Headcanon that Mystery Girl is a history girl with a degree from a nearby university and she gets excited when she thinks she’s found a fellow history nerd in Pearl and they have awesome discussions about differing accounts of certain events and it takes several weeks for Pearl to convince her that no, really, she met all these people and knows what bs each of them made up to look good to future generations.

And on their second date Pearl takes her to Jamie’s new production of the play she rewrote about the founding of Beach City.
