This is the perfect afternoon for reading your favorite book. The clock has a nice ticking consistency, your house is pet and kid-free (not like you had them to begin with), you’re in front of the window to give you a perfect view of the snow lightly falling, and nothing could ruin this moment. Plus, you have a perfect view of your neighbor’s house across from yours.

Jensen Ackles moved in a few months ago, but you’ve never had the opportunity to go to him and introduce yourself to him. When he moved in, you were traveling for work in Europe. When you got back, he was filming in Vancouver for his television show. You’ve heard of the show, but you’ve never watched it before. You like more medical dramas and documentaries, not whatever he’s on. Only recently has he moved back in for the holidays, but you haven’t had time to go over yet. Yes, you could go over now, but you really want this time to be allocated for peace and quiet.

If you knew this was going to be so damn heavy, then you would have waited for Jared to get home from filming to do this. It’s December 8th, which means it’s way too late to put up Christmas decorations on the tree. Jared got the tree from the storage unit, but you two haven’t had time to set it up because of how busy you two are. Between filming the last few important scenes, and your administrative police work, there hasn’t been any time until today.

Jared wouldn’t mind if you started without him. You wouldn’t get too far with how tall the tree is. Your house is big, your living room has a twelve-foot opening, and the tree is ten feet tall. You only cap out at 5’2. It sucks being this short, especially since that’s all everyone ever saw when you are with your husband. He’s 6’4, and you’re only 5’2. He loves to tease you about your height, which doesn’t really bother you unless someone else does it. He jokes and teases about it, but you always find creative ways to get around them.

Try To Have Some Fun

Summary: You and Misha are on opposite sides of the spectrum. He loves the cold, you love the heat. He shines in front of a camera, you shy away from it. He is an amazing cook, and you can barely boil water without it overflowing. He loves to play games, and you just try not to get hurt.

“Come on, you’re being grumpy,” Misha calls from his spot near the other children.

“It’s cold, Collins. I want to go home,” you huff. Your breath comes out in a puff of hot air in front of you, and you roll your eyes in annoyance. A cold chill nip at your spine and you hug yourself closer as if that would keep you warm. Misha promised it was going to be a quick walk, but that was forty-five minutes ago.

“Stop being such a baby,” he teases. He means nothing behind the jabs, which is why your feelings aren’t hurt. He absolutely loves winter since it means snow, which means he gets to play in it. Every year, your community holds a snowman competition for people of all ages, even if kids mostly participate in it. Misha’s favorite part is showing off his amazing skills only to fuck it up in some way to give the little kids something to laugh about.

There was a time when you and your friends went on your annual hike, and the mountain was so steep that it almost knocked the wind out of you. You came home after that trip with blood in your shoes from how much they hurt--well, it felt like your feet were bleeding. Now that trip was hard just like the time you ran a small marathon. It was nothing like the big leagues, but something small for breast cancer awareness that you absolutely loved even if you were so sore afterward. It was also very hard for you when you got into a minor car accident a year ago when some woman wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings and crashed into the back of your car.

There are many more events that have been hard for you, but all of those pale in comparison to what you’re going through now. Your girlfriend, the beautiful Briana Buckmaster, has been away all holiday. She’s on tour around the country with some of her good friends, and you couldn’t be happier for her. Hearing about her success over the phone brings a smile to your face, especially when you think about it. The hard part is seeing her smile on the photos she posts, hearing her laughter through the videos she sends and watching other people embrace her and tell her how good of a job she’s doing.
