The entire Song Of Ice And Fire series, to date, has 1,770,000 words.

Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time—the longest novel of all time according to the Guinness Book of World Records, which is spread out over six books and having read about half of it, I tell you what… just. don’t even bother. just don’t. like, it’s word porn and beautifully written and Marcel Proust was completely brilliant, but absolutely nothing happens and it makes no freaking sense because it’s probably the closest anyone has come to ever writing legitimate stream of consciousness (at least in literary fiction) and I don’t care how edifying this book is supposed to be or how much you want to be like Steve Carrell’s character in Little Miss Sunshine, there are so many better things you could be reading with your free time, assuming you want to spend your free time reading. Do yourself a favor and read Junot Diaz or Octavia Butler or Toni Morrison instead—but anyway, the officially recognized longest novel of all time ever? Has 1,200,000 words.

THIS SUPER SMASH BROTHERS FANFICTION HAS 3,500,000 WORDS AND COUNTING. IT IS ALMOST THREE TIMES THE LENGTH OF IN SEARCH OF LOST TIME. IT IS OVER THREE TIMES THE LENGTH OF HARRY POTTER. I JUST. More power to you, author of this fic. I have no idea how you could even manage to do this thing, but more power to you.
