the other night we watched zeiram on the tubi streaming service. absolutely sicko toku monster flick by keita amemiya (who i'm a huge fan of but never got around to seeing this). this movie reminded me even more of john capenter flicks than his other work. it's also got one of the coolest opening scenes of all time (gore in this (not al gore)):
repo man (1984) is still one of the best movies that nobody nowadays seems to have seen. every time i rewatch it it feels fresher and funnier

rewatched coraline tonight. it reminded me that laika actually did a music video for they might be giants once (above). random aside: there's a line in the movie where coraline calls wybie's great aunt's ghost a "little rascals chick" which is a pull that is so specific that it can only imply that she's being racist
