So I’m not going to deny that Kenma/Nekoma would fill the role that Tiger Lily and the natives play in the plot quite nicely, particularly in the platonic KenHina v jealous Kageyama way, but as I said here the whole natives aspect of Peter Pan is super problematic and I don’t want to go there. To put it bluntly there is no way in hell I’m going to draw Japanese characters in native dress. That’s like…doubly problematic u_u
I’m trying to think of a way to fill that plot space without it being offensive. Perhaps having Nekoma as a friendly rival gang of lost boys who Hinata and his crew bicker with over resources would work? Or with something more traditionally Japanese in terms of culture, like Samurai?
I dunno, I’m workin’ on it.
