Oh, yes, the writing is going well.
Hey, Pierce, @whyisthereacentaur asks: Are there any surprising things that humans just do better than vampires?
Feel free to ask follow-up or new questions below. Pierce will be back next weekend with another interview!
Part one here!
A beautifully Gothic film. If you enjoy gothic novels and atmosphere, this is the film for you. It has horror and gore, but its prevailing force is its story, its cast of characters.
For the prompt ghosts of day 28 on me and @nalesnik-z-morela 's inktober prompt list.
Referring to Sarah calling you a 'deviant vampire' in this except, @windforkthewriter asks you how you are different from other vampires, Pierce.
Oh dear. We'll resume the interview when Sarah is removed from the set.
I'll answer for Pierce: Unlike most vampires, he is not secretive. At all. People stop asking him out to Gothic balls since he cries and spills 150 years' worth of stories when he drinks too much champagne-infused blood. He wears his immortal heart on his sleeve.
So, whatever personal questions you have for him, go right ahead and ask him! We'll be back on weekends with answers.
For reference, this is what they look like in human form:

Previously, I'd posted excerpts of my main cast, so now I thought I should show a little of what horror lies in store. Gothic Tales from Melancholia swings violently between chaotic comedy, misery and melancholy, and the strange and horrible. I enjoy writing all of it.
Feel free to tell me what you think below! I'm not holding a sword. Or a needle.
Thank you @windforkthewriter for sending a 💀 in my asks for an excerpt!
The stone with a hole in it glows in the dark!
I made the costume out of an IKEA curtain:
This is the first costume of a week till holloween! Who else would you like to see Purrlock dress up as?
Art rant? Projection? Never heard of them a day in my life.
This is one of the examples of when I'm trying to make sense of my life through writing. The story takes more drastic turns than my own experiences, but it's what it feels like from the inside. Alexander is not my usual kind of character but not actually too hard for me to write, since in some weird way he's really me with no filter (and a lot of unhealthy habits).
Thank you @windforkthewriter for sending '💀's in my asks in exchange for snippets of my writing, Gothic Tales from Melancholia.
The Wraith and the White Flame (Or Something Or Other), having a cat fight.
Gothic architecture is one of the few things that bring me unmitigated awe. If I were a mediaeval maiden, they would undoubtedly induce me to believe in a higher power.
More Six of Cats: All the Crows here, Wesper here and here, Nina waffles drawing here and Jespaw eating waffles animation here!

💀💀💀 Three for halloween. Though no pressure :) yay!
Scene: L'Ôpéra des Vampires, the Midnight Summer's Masque. (I'm hungover from rereading Phantom of the Opera and had to write this slightly fanfiction-ish section)
Will give you the bits for the other two skulls soon! Opinions and advice welcome, I don't bite and Pierce doesn't either without permission!Send '💀' in my asks, and I'll post a piece of my writing
Sarah from Gothic Tales from Melancholia. Her colleague Pierce calls her the 'sword maiden.' (In the fictional world of Melancholia, maidens are an actual species of beings. So are Victorian parents, mad poets and suchlike staple Gothic archetypes.)
Another sketch because I'm missing many days of prompts. Apologies. Guess who can't ever remember the day's prompt even though she made the prompt calendar?
Inktober main post by me and @nalesnik-z-morela HERE! More sketches of Sarah (and Pierce) HERE, and you can read a little bit of the novel HERE.
This is a sketch of the bookcover of a story that has been in my head for years. It is like a Frankenstein Monster made of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Poor Things and We Have Always Lives in a Castle. I intended to have it ready for submission to a literary agent this October, but I don't think I will.
I wanted to find a beta reader, but I don't know who has the time and patience to plough through 8,000 words of gloomy Neo-Victorian prose, and I'm afraid whoever reads it would be very concerned for my well-being, or that they would think I'm a serial killer. So it shall remain in my head until next October, I suppose.
Trick!! 🧛🌹🎃👻
I am a reservoir of cursed vampire facts, here you go:
In the middle ages, one of the given methods of thwarting vampires was sucking on their gums. Which is very questionable indeed.
It's enough to make one wonder if thwarting the vampire is truly the objective here...
Fact source: I heard it on the You're Dead To Me podcast on BBC Radio 4.
Thank you for coming trick or treating! Send me a 'trick or treat' in my ask box to get a trick (cursed fact) or treat (bookish/historical sweet).

Good morrow, denizens of the internet, I am Amanda. It makes me laugh when people address me as Purrlock - feel free to do so, but to my mind, Purrlock is this fine gentleman:
His Tumblr is @purrlockholmesbooksofficial - historical facts, book reviews and updates from his website. This Tumblr is where I post art and get up to shenanigans.
I'm either a vampire or possessed by a Victorian ghost. I'm happiest living the days when sleeves were deliciously puffy, Sherlock Holmes lounged around Baker Street and Dracula was still high-tech. I draw goober cats, write gothic historical fiction and dabble in multi-media art such as animation and clay sculpting.
Website (books, history, writing advice, more cats. New posts weekly!)

Big spikes on the toe, the better to kick yatchs with. (In Call of Cthulhu, the Cthulhu was defeated by getting hit in the face by a yacht.)
