How to Play The main aim is to make a line of across/down/diagonally by writing five Sherlolly fics, one for each of bingo square prompts in the line you choose to fulfill. You can also go for a postage stamp format - a single fic that combines a cluster of four prompts that are in a 2 x 2 formation on the card. For a more challenging time you could also try to write a single fic combining all five prompts in a line.

There is no deadline for this challenge - it's entirely open ended. :)

Scoring Mostly the aim is more fanworks, inspiration and creativity, all that jazz, but if you're competitive you could keep score on your card too. Points are awarded as such: 1 point - for writing a fic for any bingo prompt that is also a crossover with another fandom 3 points - for writing five fics that complete a line of five bingo prompts 4 points - for writing a single fic that combines four bingo prompts in postage stamp formation 5 points - for writing a single fic that combines five bingo prompts that are in a line 10 points - for writing a fic for each of the bingo prompts on the card 15 points - for writing five fics each using a different postage stamp formation set of bingo prompts If you reach 50 points let me know by commenting on this Dreamwidth post or sending me a message, with proof of your score, and you will get put in the Sherlolly Bingo Hall of Fame. ;D

Sherlock achievement! And Fringe reward

Actually got my sherlock_remix fic written to some sort of standard I can get behind and sent off to my lovely beta this evening. After so long stalling on it I'm surprised at myself for randomly also writing a fic for one of the other optional rounds too. Suddenly I am productive.

Anyhow, this is good. I've been bribing myself by withholding "September's Notebook" until I got this assignment done. It may not yet be mailed in but bar tweaks suggested it is done so I am taking the book with me when I go away at the weekend as a reward - something shiny to read on the train. :D

This means now all I have hanging over me is updating "Turn Around" and the other Sherlock/Molly prompts I've been remiss in getting to. Hoping I can juggle having multiple fandom muses more effectively in the future, Fringe has been eating my brain but there are still so many Sherlock fics I want to write too.

Not taking part myself this time but thought I'd pimp it out in the direction of the Sherlock writers I know on tumblr.

Yay, got my Septembers notebook and the Red Vines. Not allowing myself to open until I’ve got my Sherlock_remix assignment underhand though, as it’s numero uno priority this weekend.

whee, trope_bingo here I go!

So I signed up for the trope_bingo challenge.

Idea is to write fics to match themes across a line or just all of them. I'd like to try for the latter, but not sure about some of these. I think 3 lines appeal to me more so far. Planning below:

When genderswap confuses people

Colour me confused, and partially amused too.

I just got a complaint about pronouns in my genderswapped fem!Sherlock/Molly fic "A Leading Question for a Lady" i.e. that Sherlock was referred to as her/she etc. Had a bit of WTF moment when I read that comment...

Currently not sure if they a) missed the notes that the fic was genderswapped fem!Sherlock, b) misunderstood genderswap to be something different like a temporary kind or c) are trolling because they dislike female!Sherlock. Guess I'll find out when/if they reply. Never had this sort of comment before on any genderswapped fics.

Sherlock/Cabin Pressure collision

Having an odd moment reconciling that something I've been planning to write into a certain Sherlock fic for months now is unintentionally intersecting with something featured in a Cabin Pressure episode I haven't heard yet.

It will probably look like an in-joke, which I'm not sure if that is good or if I should listen to the CP episode so I can at least make sure if it's in there it's a darn proper in-joke.

Writing frustration

My brain isn't really feeling the writing love right now. I have a shit tonne of plot bunnies crawling out of me and I have prompt 221b's to do, and the next chapter of Turn Around, as well as the foolish idea that I wanted to do Valentines ficlets for my current 3 favourite pairings (see how I failed there since the day is passed). 

But no, one of those turned into a 17 page epic mildly smutty angst fest, which'd be fine if I had a beta for the fandom (Fringe, alt!incoln/alt!olivia) or if I could get it up to scratch on my lonesome except I'm not feeling the words somehow. It's technically coming along fine, but I don't think it has the brilliant spark to it I want before I put it out there. I guess I shall turn my attentions back to WIP land and Sherlock things as I should anyhow, but concerned that won't progress any better. Worth a try I suppose. I hope this s not writer's block developing.

The prompt fills shall come

Just a random note for anyone waiting for prompt fills on the 221b post of mine (I think there's 3 left to do, so there'll be another 5 fills coming from the prompt meme too). They are a coming, but not til next week sometime as I've been suddenly superbusy most of this week and shall also be over the weekend, but they have not slipped my mind.

I don't think there's a wellingtongoose meta so far I have not enjoyed and found informative. This one is short but very interesting for writing university set Sherlock fic if you subscribe to idea he was an Oxbridge student.

As an added aside, if people need help with Cambridge set stuff I might be able to help there as as a person living in the area, who is not a grad of the uni there but certainly knows numerous people who are (kind of unavoidable in Cambridge).
